Seems like independent shops have been priced out, with awkward or expensive parking you're better off going to a retail park or some other better maintained town.nnMostly the town centre is just full of people dossing around.nnAlso it appears the greedy council has pushed out street performers/artists.nThe whole centre has lost its character and engagement, becoming a hive of fast food and chain retail shops.nnAlso, not very disability friendly since pushing in cycle paths, even though most electric speed scooters still use the pavement and are travelling way too fast to safely be on, it's difficult to navigate the narrower and less well maintained than the road pedestrian space.nnIt would seem the council has highly selective and biased priorities rather than serving its wider population.nnA real shame for people who are limited on mobility and find travelling further afield difficult.
Long time since I've been here. The town is not like it was, big shops gone. Others are in the new shopping mall which is pleasant and clean. Depends what your after
During my visit, I found the shops and staff to be exceptionally pleasant. Supporting independent businesses contributes significantly to the community.
OK, nice walk around mall, open ai market not so good these days, was better before relocation .
I rarely go to the city centre but because I was having a new hip I parked near M&S while I got some new slippers. I’m new to the Blue Badge for disabled so I should have parked on double yellow lines or in a Disabled Bay, but they were all full .nI parked in a loading area in front of some shops. When I got back I’d got a Penalty Charge Notice. I appealed but still had to pay £35 so won’t be going back to town anytime soon. No wonder Wolves town centre is dying. I’ll miss M&S but that’s about all!
