A level results day, you can't reach out to any of the teachers for support, guidance, even to share the joy or sadness as they're all out of office. Brilliant! Just that one day drained all the respect we had for them.
i don’t attend but when i applied last year, they ignored my application for three months and didn’t offer me any interview slots until three months after applying, despite another person i knew applying around the same time as me and being able to book an interview relatively soon afterwards. i think this was potentially because i specified that i’m autistic/have an ehcp in my application, as another person i know applied, specified that they had additional needs and their application got entirely blacklisted apparently. six months later after applying, in june of last year, they sent me a letter asking me to consider level 1 courses at their finsbury park centre, despite me applying for three a level courses and having the predicted grades to support this option. what’s worse is that the letter arrived two days late!! it was about an event that had happened that wednesday, and it arrived on a friday safe to say i did not take up my offer here or even bother attending the interview once i was finally able to book one as it did not seem tolerant enough of SEN.
This college is a waste of time do not bother applying. I have been kicked off my college course due to attendance being 83% in October and was told if I complete a business and employability course I will be able to complete the second year , however now I’ve finished they have told me the course no longer exists and have given me no extra support bearing in mind I have an EHCP plan . So basically just waisted two years of my life
I don’t recommend this as a current a level student. It is hard to socialise and make friends and the college environment and space doesn’t support this. Enrichment clubs are not very good either, after all the hype they get. Some subject teachers are ok and interested in the subject but most of them seemed overworked/stressed and don’t seem to care if a student is struggling. You do get more freedom but this is given so much that you can feel like nobody is there to support you. Not to mention the canteen food that is unhealthy. I regret coming here.
I applied for this college THEY MADE ME FEEL SO DUMB and said i cant even achieve level 1 science and once they saw me they said the science course is full but 1 minute ago it was empty and i got a level 2 science qualification at a better college not this one.
I initially joined in year 12 to sit my A-Levels. I was doing Chemistry, Biology and Psychology. However, due to my health my attendance dropped and I was unable to sit my first year exams. Instead of supporting me or allowing me to restart by paying, I was sent to their Holloway campus to do B-TEC. I offered to pay to resit the year at Angel but they declined and I had to go to a completely different school altogether. The timetables were also a mess. They made me start at 9am on most days and would give me three hour breaks followed by a lesson at 14:45 which would end at 16:15. It was especially difficult in winter as I would finish college just as rush hour started and would get home at around 18:00 only to redo the whole thing again the next day. It would have been much better if my lessons were more early on in the day. Staff don’t even know each other and it’s quite pointless to call reception to make inquiries as they don’t even know who half the teachers are. I am very disappointed to be writing this because I initially loved my time here but they have been extremely unforgiving despite my circumstances being out of my control.
Sarah Greene from the careers section helped me with my UCAS application throughout and she took her time to help me through the process and i am very much appreciated
I have no problem with the teacher at this college. I had bad experience from the office. She made me like I needed help from the mental health. If you have Europe qualifications don't wast your time to ask for anything. Research your self and apply for universities online. They will contact you. Don't wast at this college.
wouldn’t send my kid here to be honest, great support from staff for mental health and well being but classes were always being cancelled and the college was very underprepared for major stuff like exams, taster day etc there was also a stop and search that lasted a day after the student protested for their rights
This college is by far the worst college in the country. When i was attending we only had 2 teachers who taught throughout the year. I was only going in 3 days a week full time. In the year that i attended MOST classes were cancelled because just one teachers father died. As a result the other teacher decided to cancel classes as well. There was a substitute teacher that came in to teach for a few months, we later discovered everything he taught us was wrong and was discarded. At the end of the year i decided to leave and i did not complete my course. This college wasted 1 year of my life. I barely left with P's due to the terrible teaching. My teacher had the audacity to ask why I'm leaving the college when i was "doing so well". Send your kids to this school only if you don't like them. But if you value your childs existence, teach them yourselves. The education system in this country in general is a complete failure. For once in history students are trying to study but our teachers are failing to do their job.
