I bought a new Citroen C5x which was delivered in September 2022. The Certificate of Conformity was not given to me at the time of sale as is required by law.nhttps://www.gov.uk/guidance/certificate-of-conformity-for-new-vehiclesnnThe CofC did not arrive by post. A duplicate CofC costs £223. After a great deal of effort via Citroen U.K. and even writing to the new country manager, Citroen agreed to supply a duplicate CofC free of charge.nnI booked the car in for its first service on the 30th June 2023. The first service is basically just an oil change. I was bringing the car in rather early at 9900 miles, as I had accidentally overfilled the engine with oil topping up. I felt a bit foolish about this and did not mention it to Wilmoths as the reason I was bringing the car in a few thousand miles before the scheduled service interval.nnThe service cost £250. A few days later once I had the car on level ground, I checked the oil level. I was shocked to see that the oil level was still overfilled at the same level as it was when I took the car in. I ‘phoned the service department and they told me to bring the car back. I also noticed the engine oil wasn’t very clean, basically it was the same colour as before I took the car in for service. I have video evidence of this.nnExactly a week later I took the car back, the oil level was checked and some oil had to be drained out of the engine. No apology was given for this inconvenience. I thought that was unusual.nnA couple of weeks later the car had a puncture and had to go up on a ramp. Whilst it was there, I asked the the mechanic to check the oil filter. He called me over to the car and it was clear the filter had not been changed.nnI have had the car serviced again at a Citroen main dealer in Treviso, Italy. The oil this time appeared much clearer, almost translucent on the dipstick. It was also filled to the correct level.nnThe image below is of my car having the excess oil removed. The other image shows the oil filled to the bottom of the yellow plastic of the dipstick. Also note the colour of the oil.nnI have added a third image which shows the oil colour 2240 miles after the service the car had in Italy. The colour is a lot lighter than the brand new oil after the service at Wilmoths. Also note the oil filled to the correct level.nnThe final image is of my invoice from the main dealership in Italy. Whilst Wilmoths charge rip off prices - £250 for an oil and filter change - if it is done, my invoice shows besides an oil and filter change, a new engine air filter was fitted plus the cabin filter. The spark plugs were changed. The cost for all of this at Manzotti Automobili Citroen was €350 or £299!nnThe engine on my C5x is the 1 2 Puretech with the wet cambelt design which is inside the engine. These engines have a history of catastrophic failure caused by the belt degrading and losing teeth, which blocks the oil pick up. Using the wrong oil can cause this problem. So it is essential to use the right oil specified by Citroen. Wilmoths should not be using a 0/30 oil as shown on my invoice from them. . The Italian garage is using the correct specification: SAE 0/20 B71 2010.nnThe Treviso dealership stated that a recall inspection and software update which should have been completed with my service at Wilmoths, were not carried out according to the online record of the car.
I had the pleasure of dealing with Graham for my new car. Absolutely brilliant customer service from the start to picking up my car. He went through how to use the car when I collected it. Now I've been to a few dealerships where you don't feel comfortable walking in but wilmoths is definitely welcoming and everyone points you in the correct direction.
Bought a pre-loved car last year I forgot to review then and service from Graham and Matt was fab. Informative and knowledgeable and gave me time to make a decision without pressure unlike other dealers I went to There's a good atmosphere in the showroom and like another review said you are made to feel comfortable and cared for.nnJust had first MoT done and again great service, the mechanic took time to go through report and explain things clearly.nCar had been cleaned and was immaculate on collectionnMany Thanks guys.
My wife and I recently purchased an approved used vehicle from Wilmoths Citroen Eastbourne and have been very impressed with the service provided by Matt. Having been searching for months for a vehicle to suit our growing family needs we had begun to lose hope of finding the right car for us. Matt was very accommodating and even drove the vehicle into the showroom for us on the afternoon we viewed it so that we didn't have to look it in the rain. Communication has been excellent and the process has been extremely smooth. We felt comfortable asking questions, did not feel under pressure but feel very reassured by the after-sales care. We would not hesitate to recommend.
A very positve experience....nice People working there , they open for any question.....
