I was earning around £400 per month working 7 days a week (didn't have shifts- only got paid when I was actually visiting someone's home), which didn't even cover the mortgage. I went to CAB and was told that lots of people were in the same position and that the only benefit that I could try to claim was Council Tax Benefit. That turned out to be false- I was able to claim Disability Living Allowance. I took the completed form to CAB, for them to look over, and was told that I could try, but that the benefit was for disabled people. Clearly, their staff have their own definition of a disabled person, which is in contrast to that of the Department for Work and Pensions, which renders the service provided by CAB in Grimsby, unhelpful.

Useless... Have never actually been able to help or provide accurate info or help relating to my problem(s) , and actually the advice and so called help they gave me they actually made my problem much worse and difficult to sort out. Which was done without their assistance!
