We drove into this multistorey car park and tried to get a ticket but the machine would not recognise our registration number so we decided to leave. We then got hit with a £100 Penalty Charge Notice saying that we had trespassed as it's a private land. I really think this company, CITIPARK is running a scam because there are signs to the right that says it is a public car park pointing to the multistorey and arrow to the left that it is a private land. I don’t know of how we can be accused of trespassing. The signs are very misleading. This is clearly a trap to catch people out. They are demanding payment, turned down my appeal and saying that they are going to pass it on to a debt collection company without this matter going to court! I am a lawyer and never heard of this. A debt collection company would have to secure a CCJ to prove I owe them any money. DO NOT PARK AT THIS CAR PARK! These people are money grabbing, greedy with no shred of evidence. I will not pay purely because it is an injustice and hard working people should not be robbed in broad daylight!
SCAMMERS! BE AWARE! I parked there and when I went to pay, the machine said my reg number is not recognised, so I entered it manually and paid £2 for 2 hours, I wasn't even sure how long I've been there as I relied on the machine to do that automatically for me, as it did in the past. Received a fine of £60 a few weeks later for not paying. Appealed the fine and they rejected it, although I had receipt proof of payment.
Just avoid this car park. I have been parking here for 10 years but now had any issues but since they introduced the ticketless system they are scamming people I tried to pay for my section then it was saying there is nothing to pay few days later I received a ticket for £60 I appealed it but I never heard anything from them contact them this morning and they are saying that they sent me to a debit collection agency. Contact both City Car Park and Baysentry the company who issued the ticket they are not interested. Total scam be careful.
I had a great experience parking here. I pre-booked on the CitiPark website, which was easy to use. 12 hours parking only cost me £4.80. Excellent value for money compared to London car parks. The barriers let me enter and exit automatically via license plate recognition. There was plenty of spaces considering it was a weekday morning. The car park could do with a lick of paint and some new light bulbs if that sort of thing is important to you, but it gets the job done for a very fair price. This would be a 5-star review, but the entrance to the car park is quite tight and unhelpfully discreet. And in poor luck, the CitiPark logo actually has an arrow on it, that points the opposite direction to the entrance! I was going slow and had nobody behind me, but could be easy to miss on a one-way street.
Terrible car park due to poor upkeep. Both lifts out of order for long periods of time. Homeless men use the stairwell next to the lifts to urinate. The smell is disgusting. Wall paint falling off due to acid urine. Next time I am there I will take photos of the terrible state and publish on line here. If you have a blue badge and no spaces on ground floor then you are stuck because lifts out of order long term. The car park should be demolished! I only use it in daylight. Too risky otherwise.
