Haven't been here since COVID, but decided to book a table for a family meal on a Saturday night. We were seated straight away on time. Be warned the menu is very large with plenty of dishes. Every dish we tried was fantastic and really well cooked - no complaints at all! Service really good, the only slight negative was we were seated in the outside extension part, was a cold evening but there were halogen heaters above each table, but tricky to get temp just right. Highly recommended going, one of the best if not best Chinese in Birmingham! Parking: Research your parking options prior, if you are travelling by car. However, recommended travelling by train.
Amazing food, really amazing and funny manager or server best I’ve ever seen, and incredible attention to detail for vegans by multiple staff members who warned us multiple times that certain items we ordered weren’t vegan. A bit pricey but very worth it. Inside is much prettier than outside area imo. Got the vegan duck pancakes, spicy vegan dumplings, and vegan laziji spicy chicken.
Absolutely wonderful food, service and atmosphere. We did book in advance and were seated immediately, our orders were taken quickly and drinks brought fast. All of our food was vegetarian and we were shocked at how quickly it came to our table and how hot and fresh it was - it was also the most delicious vegetarian food we have had and we were blown away by the experience. All servers went above and beyond, there was a lovely vibe throughout and a relaxed atmosphere and we felt everyone dining in seemed to be having an enjoyable evening and were being well looked after too. I couldn't fault it. Honestly it was just really lovely to see. It just has such a good vibe and the food is so good, we travelled for our wedding anniversary and will be back next time too, if not before! Vegetarian options: Very large vegetarian menu, vegetarian duck is incredible. Kid-friendliness: Yes there were children in the restaurant, it does not bother us in the slightest as why should children not be able to go out for food as a family. They were being well looked after and respected by servers, it was lovely to see!
Another fabulous lunch at Chung Ying's our favourite Chinese restaurant. As ever the service was excellent with each dish to our liking. We always order far too much but then take home the food left over. A long lunch enjoyed with red wine and then an Uber home.Food: 5/5
Visited here after going to the hippodrome. The server was super friendly. He gave us complimentary drinks for the wait time and just kept checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. We started our meal off with 4 starters, Vegan Yuk Sung, Peking Ribs, Crispy Aromatic Duck and Chicken Yuk Sung. As I don’t eat meat, I can’t talk on the meat options but the Vegan Yuk Sung was super flavourful and piping hot. The mains I had included Vegan Crispy Chilli Beef and Vegan Sweet and Sour Chicken. The meat eaters also had the same and Lemon Chicken; they said it was some of the best chinese food we’ve had in a while. I don’t get to have many vegan options when it comes to dining out etc and this is better than I thought it would be! It was exactly how I remembered the meat versions being like. Rice and noodles were also flavourful and a big portion too! 10/10! I would 100% recommend.
Went for food this evening and my main complaint is there is soooo many options. Staff were friendly..atmosphere was lovely and chill this evening and my dish which was fried beef in satay sauce and egg fried rice was tastyFood: 3/5
Sat in the heated and covered outdoor area by choice. Chinese music coveres Lovely choice of food - we went for dim sum Great selection and flavours. Particularly like the spicy tangy dip some come with
The food is authentically Cantonese style Chinese. A lot of sweet flavours which is so familiar to my childhood. Would highly recommend. I had sui Mai, char sui boa and prawn spring rolls. Delicious and will definitely recommend. Vegetarian options: There are clearly marked vegetarian and vegan options. My husband is vegan and he had a huge menu to chose from.
So good I came back after a week after to try different things off the menu. Yo! The food is absolutely delicious! Kid-friendliness: The first time I visited, a family was celebrating their baby's 100 days ceremony. It was very beautiful
Amazing - enormous vegan menu, everything was very nice but especially enjoyed the kung pao chicken and chicken drumsticks. Nice atmosphere too.Food: 5/5
