I would like to make a special mention of an employee of the Christchurch railway station named Gary. We arrived last night on the Tranz Alpine and were waiting for our shuttle to arrive. Gary kept us company and offered to stay with us until it arrived but we told him to go home : Thank you Gary - and thankfully the shuttle did arrive - late - but we still were able to get to our destination. We appreciated Gary's willingness to help and went out of his way to do so. Thanks once again!
Scenic tour to Arthur’s Pass, two hours trip didn’t feel that long with amazing view through the big windows. The train also serves hot food on the catering car. Suggest to go check in earlier to avoid the tour crowds.

Plenty of room for drop off of passengers, and plenty of room to board the train
It's okay, but under construction. When the train arrives it turns into Lord of the Flies, luggage edition. The last time I saw this many disorganized and inconsiderate people in one place I was watching C-SPAN. The staff here are great though we were an hour late, the tourists not so much.
Nice little place, readily accessible.
When an arrival is late there should be some electronic indicator to show the amended arrival time. Frustrating when one is on a schedule.
Really nice train station!
Good time to explore the South island after lock down.
