Went for a new patient appointment a few weeks ago, very welcoming and helpful staff, dentist for the new patient appointment was friendly and professional. Went back again for a scheduled cleaning appointment, staff were all helpful and welcoming, and the hygienist for my cleaning appointment was efficient and professional. Would highly recommend going here
Lovely dental staff who were friendly and provided great service. My appointments were handled professionally and treatment was quick and painless. Reason for only 3 stars is that unfortunately this was the 4th attempt at an appointment as the previous 3 were cancelled by the practice at the last minute, with one cancellation followed up by an email threatening to fine me if I 'didn't turn up' again in future, when it was them that cancelled not me! If you can get the admin side worked out then this would be a great practice.
Very kind, patient and expert staff. Let me know exactly what work I needed done and answered questions I had with confidence. Previously I've had dentists who were vague about what they found and needed to do. Here it was all clear and reassuring. The reception staff are fantastic too, especially Jasmine. They are doing amazing with the large workload they have on top of the patients coming in who have no patience. Whatever they are earning it is not enough!
This has to be worst dentist in the area, my terrible experience started when I was told I had to have a wisdom tooth out, it broke in half during removal with the locum dentist and caused me agony and in the end I had to pay privately and get it removed under general anaesthesia as the waiting list for NHS was months, this caused weeks of severe pain. I went back to Damira for a follow up and had three fillings and the locum dentist said he had a room full of people and didn't think he had time as he was running late, he was rushed during the whole appointment and I did not feel at ease at all. I was waiting for an hour before I was seen, the pain started almost immediately once the injections had worn off, the one filling was too high and I could not bite down and the nerve pain in the other two fillings was so painful so I had to go back as an emergency. I complained and the practice manager booked me in the following week, when I arrived the receptionists told me I did not have an appointment, I challenged this and explained I had been asked to come by the Practice Manager at 4.50pm they said they didn't have a note of this. I asked them to contact her, they slotted me in but I had to wait an hour and half in the waiting room to then see another locum dentist who asked me why I was there when I finally went in. I explained I was in pain following the fillings and she continued to file down one filling with no pain relief and then continued to poke about in my mouth to which she said you will have to come back and make another appointment as I cant see anything wrong. I even had to move the trolley to sit down and also move it again out the way to get out of the dentist chair they made me feel totally uncomfortable and I still have pain, I will never step in Damira Dentist ever again the worst experience ever!
The dentists and hygienists are pretty good. The most frustrating thing is no one EVER answers the phone, you have to physically go in and make an appointment which for me is a 45 minute round trip. My husband even stood in reception and called the number - it didn’t even ring
I went for a routine check up and saw a dentist that I’ve never seen before. Unfortunately this dentist was extremely rough whilst cleaning my teeth and I was in some discomfort when I left. It wasn’t until the left side of my face started to swell that evening that I became concerned. The next day I went back and saw a different dentist, who was lovely, they prescribed me antibiotics for an infection. Not only did I have to pay again after this second appointment, but also for the antibiotics for an infection that was caused by one of their dentists. No apology either. Over a week later I’m still suffering from extremely sensitive teeth. I also had to take 2 days off of work as I felt so unwell. I’ve never had a problem with my teeth before or ever had a fear of dentists, I now have both.
The appointment itself was fine. I remain disappointed with the number of cancelled appointments resulting in my annual check being 4 months overdue. I am also unclear why I am unable to book my follow up appointment for another 8mths, will you be calling me to remind me? It feels very much like you are expecting your NHS patients to navigate a system that will have them signed off by you for not remaining 'regular' patients. That said, I will be ensuring I call in 8mths time, as requested, to book my next appointment for April 2025 as there is little other option within the locality!
Dr Matthew Emmott is by far and away the best Dentist that I have ever been to for a tooth extraction, I wouldn't now go anywhere else whilst he is available. However the receptionists don't answer the phone, you have to email them? They quoted £375 for an extraction but on the day told me the price was £405. I reminded them of the lower price that I had been quoted, which the receptionists acknowledged sniggered and accepted the lower price. It transpires they have increased their costs but not everyone knew? So, what should have been 5 stars can only be 3 stars!
The worst practice I have come across in my entire life, absolutely atrocious. Booked for an emergency appointment, month wait but ok - got cancelled, rebooked for another month - cancelled again!! Almost a 3 month wait for nothing, great way to treat emergencies. Avoid like plague at all costs
Excellent, pain-free experience! Like most people, I’m not fond of visiting the dentist, but I had an extraction with zero pain so I’m very happy with Damira. Slight discomfort as the anaesthetic was injected but then nothing. Back again soon!
