Chippenham station could be lovely if it wasn’t for the miserable GWR idiots who man the station. They’re rude, ignorant and immediately suspicious of anyone who has difficulty at the barriers because of THEIR faulty ticket machines. I’m yet to come across anyone wearing green in this station who is actually friendly or polite. I know many others who use this station to commute feel the same. GWR needs to address the appalling people skills that their staff have! It’s bad enough that the train ticket prices are obscene and the carriages always overcrowded...
There has been a recent improvement to the Station as far as Security is concerned in the provision of an extra platform from which more trains can arrive and depart. There is no Waiting Room for this new Platform but there are toilets facilities which are controlled by Staff for those without tickets. Local buses also arrive and depart from the Rail Station ... JMG
5 stars to Paul and Michelle who were manning the platform entrance Saturday.nThey are a credit to Chippenham station and actively demonstrated how to properly offer a quality service.nThank you Paul and Michelle
Improvements have help bring the station more up to date, although more could be done.nHandy for Chippenham to Paddington, temple meads & bath, fast trains, can be in London in just over an hour.
