Interesting stone built station with lovely restored ticket office. There is a building nearby with a blue plaque which was the site office of Brunel when railway line was constructed. There is no railway line next to station which results in climbing stairs or taking lift to adjacent platform.
A nice station although one platform is no longer in use it's and hasn't been for many years it's nice that they have kepd the station the way it was.nIt's great to see they have made the station step free and currently making it step free from the carpark behind the station by adding another lift to get up to the footbridge.nThere is toilets at this station and a in door waiting room on the platform there is lifts from all platforms.
Good car park,very convenient for the station and for the high street.A frequent train service from here which is good,however parking spaces are way too small and way too tight.Also £6 for parking is expensive,expect someone to come out and wash my car for that price.You could get a McDonald’s burger and McFlurry for that price.I was also lucky that I went on a Saturday as it costs £8 on weekdays.Go down the end if you want it a bit better.Short stay only 20 minutes
Bought tickets through TrainPal for the 06:15 to Paddington and I arrived at the station at 05:45. The ticket office is allegedly open from 05:50. At 06:10 an employee wandered over and unlocked the doors, several waiting customers piled in to try to buy or collect their tickets. I just managed to get mine in time to catch the train. Not sure what the problem was but not very professional!
Good train station, annoying high walkway. Love the fact that the restaurant has free range food.
