The staff were exceptionally rude, impolite, and impatient. They insisted that we print a barcode from our phones for their machines to scan. If you don’t have a copy, you have to go to the adjacent printer to do it yourself. However, this is completely unnecessary since they could easily enter the barcode manually. The staff seemed to go out of their way to complicate every process. Despite filling out all the information correctly, I still had to personally submit my old passport. They do not provide any mail-in service for this and require you to come back to pick it up. I have to drive three hours each way to Manchester, making it a six-hour round trip. And I have to do this twice. Their service has been incredibly inconvenient and has significantly disrupted my life. Thank you so much for the added hassle.
Very fast service. There was no queue at 10:15am when I arrived and it took literally a few minutes to collect the passport. There’s also a mini library with Chinese and English language magazines about China. For those who drive there please beware - you can’t park on that street as it’s only for residents parking. I left my car outside for less than 10 mins and a van with cctv already arrived ready to issue me a fine luckily I caught him and left on time before he did!.
Tried to visit back in September to amicably debate their foreign relations, but was promptly knocked unconscious Now my wife and only daughter are missing, parts of my roof have been stolen, I'm pretty sure I saw a strange person living in my kitchen cabinet eating my plates, and I receive messages from unknown numbers every night telling me that "Xi Jinping is watching you :" 10/10, would gamble my life for 2 social points again
I was treated with courtesy when I visited and staff remained professional and friendly. The process did take about an hour, and it is true that not every window was open. That said, this seems par for the course in every bank, supermarket, airport and train station that I have visited for years now. Staff who were working were efficient and dedicated.
Extremely rude staff I traveled to this place by train as I was far away so before I went I’ve rang their advise line only operating from 2pm to 4pm the lady was nice and friendly. I have explain my suitation FULLY and she said I don’t need appointment just pop in and they can provide me with the letter I need. However when I turned up in person, the woman there were unbelievably rude! She said completely different things to the lady on the phone. I was in there 3 minutes and out because they said they wouldn’t help anyone to gain a passport in another nationality. I was shocked by their attitude when she said so as she was rolling her eyes and said it’s all MINE fault if I’m facing problems as such. Then I rang the British passport office they were helping me as much as they can and there is just such a contrast between people’s service. Also where building located it’s a terrible area as while I was walking, people just sound their horns and laughing when they driving pass. So from my experience, please do not visit this place. Try to contact the office in London if possible as London will be their main office anyways so that you don’t have to waste your money and time.
Came to sort my document legalisation out, which is the step prior to applying for a work visa. Every single member of staff was extremely friendly whilst also helping me out with any little problems I had. And even the people in the waiting room were extremely nice, a woman gave me a £1 as I didn’t have any money for the photocopier. I’ll definitely be coming back here to sort my visa out after picking up my documents. Great place to get the guidance and help on anything you need.
Done the application though app, got a call from them very next day. They advised me the best way and sort me out in a week time. Very efficient.
After having paid almost £300 for a multiple entry visa, the embassy ended up granting me a flimsy 2 entries, which is not enough for my trip back home. A friend paid a third of the price in Austria and got an actual multiple entry visa, despite me living in China for longer than she has. When I called the visa company they said it was up to the embassy to decide on the amount of entries, so I decided to call them up while they were still open and of course no one answered. Horribly customer service, probably cause they’re just a scam operation. It’s a shame that they’re who you have to contact in order to get a Chinese visa. It’s better money wise and service wise to just get an on arrival visa if you can.
I don't understand why the rating here is so low, maybe most of the ratings were given from westerns? TO BE HONEST, my overall experience here is quite good, the staffs are friendly and efficient. Most importantly, I would feel safer than anytime when I was in the place.
They take 8 weeks to verify passport for a chinese visa. Very disappointed. I thought they were very efficient and hardworking.
