Under New Management sadly. This site was owned by a lovely little old lady that lived near by and run by a very friendly couple. This has now been taken over by someone in London. Good luck getting an answer from the website. Still, we turned up anyway and found space by the cliff edge. There is water, power, toilets, showers, and washing area if you need it. Kids play area is neglected however you can still get to the stone beach. I love this site as it's not a real kids area, there is nothing on this site other than people making their own entertainment. Beautiful views. Great for camping, just calm... There is a mobile number on the website. Ring it to make a reservation or just roll up. Toilets, showers, etc very clean and you don't need a token to use anything.
probably the best camp site if you like the outdoors and the view of the ocean, 10 minute walk to the beach a toilet and shower block and if you want to charge stuff up without having a hook up they will allow you to at the reception for £1 paid £15 to stay a night
Love this site and have been coming here since I first stayed in 1974!!!! Long time ago yes, but ain't changed much. Good field, perfect showers and power if you need it. If you're into stargazing...this is the place to stay, no light pollution at all.
Sadly new management, this is an unmanned campsite with staff that don't answer the phone, has the most amazing beach, but as it was not staffed, a huge party happened until gone three, some regular campers asked them to be quiet, were met with rudeness. The whole weekend toilet block not cleaned, no paper towels, hardly any soap or toilet roll left. No water pressure for the shower, and sometimes cold. Sadly won't stay again despite the amazing beach and views.
Stayed at this campsite for one night. Bit of a mystery... on first impressions the campsite looks deserted, a broken and disused childrens play area at the front and lots of unoccupied caravans, and no obvious reception or anyone to meet you. However we were informed by other campers that if you have paid online you can just pitch up anywhere. Toilets were spotlessly clean probably because there is noone to use them!, and there was hot water for washing up. The showers were clean and spacious but no more than a dribble of water. The view from our pitch was stunning and with hardly any other campers there it was really peaceful!
Just returned from a 6 night stay at Chine Farm. The site is very peaceful with amazing views across the English Channel, direct access to cliff top walks and lots of lanes to cycle. The facilities are in a purpose built block and were kept clean during our stay. Due to the location of the site the water pressure in the showers is a little low, but this cannot be helped. If you plan to use buses to explore the local area, check the timetables as they are very infrequent. The nearest shop in Brighstone is very well stocked with lots of local produce and is around 2.5miles away. Overall our experience of this site was excellent and it is a credit to the owners. I am sure we will be returning soon.
At Chine Farm you are in for an unforgettable adventure! Legend has it that the female toilet blocks were built in the ruins of a former research lab for genetically modified insects. This explains the alleged sightings of so-called monster moths. "These don't even compare to the cockroaches in Saudi...I thought it was a bird" - anonymous Saudi resident "Play it by ear" when it comes to the weather conditions they said. This rule of thumb came in handy during our last night, where one by one, our tent poles succumbed to hurricane winds with an excruciating snapping sound. Mass hysteria was invoked due to this which later resulted in the division of the community. We did want to go paragliding, but never could we have imagined that we would get the chance at 4am by the threads of our tent. With no place to charge phones or maintain connection to the world, if you want to experience pre-historic life 5/7 would recommend. All in all, a great experience for anyone who is unafraid to come face to face with nature. As side note: despite using services for charging with the intentions of paying the overall £2 charge, we were left with no choice but to not pay due to the inability to provide us with a refund for the final day, despite having no tent to sleep in. Ultimately this left us with a sweet and sour taste in our mouth which is not what we had ordered.
Really expensive. Stayed here last summer for my Silver DOFE. The price quoted by email was not the price we were expected to pay. No fires allowed. Toilets are limited and small.
Booked an electric pitch months in advance but was sandwiched in on a ridiculously bumpy, uneven "pitch". We decided to take a non-electric pitch so we could get a better view rather than stare at the eyeballs of our rather surprised neighbours but there was a hurricane blowing so we gave up. We weren't offered an alternative electric pitch, probably all booked up, so we asked for a refund which the owner was happy to provide. Just a shame that we were given such a poor pitch when we had booked up so early.
Great camping site, basic with shower block etc. We was there during extreme weather the recent weekend. Brilliant fun.
