Without doubt the best Chinese food for miles around. Don't be put off by the drab decor, the food is splendid. What I really like about the China Inn is that the menu is not just the default seen in so many Chinese restaurants and take-aways: meat Chow mien meat Foo young meat Chop suey Sweet and sour meat Repeat for Chicken, Pork, Beef, Prawn. In the China Inn the menu is varied, and interesting and not just a rehash of these boring old imitation Chinese dishes. I can highly recommend the soft-shell crabs. Absolutely splendid.
Thanks Rob! We agree entirely, we intended to go a few doors down for our wedding anniversary meal and unfortunately or maybe not so unfortunately! they were closed River Avon. So, we stumbled upon this little delight. We were the only ones in there and were served very nicely and quickly by the wife of a great chef who gave us the best chilli beef we have tasted in any Chinese restaurant to date amongst the ribs and chilli and salt chicken and other things I forget to mention. It doesn't look like a magnificent restaurant as my husband always says I'm so fussy about the decor and esthetics of places to eat, but honestly when you taste the food it really doesn't matter! Thank you.
Been eating here for years. The food is always consistently very good. The service is simple but efficient. Prices are reasonable and haven't changed. Recommend to anyone who wants a really good Chinese meal.
