It's the 14th February Valentines Day. I booked a table for two at the China Garden. It has car parking for about 7 cars. As you walk in the drinks bar and counter is on your left. On the right is a seating area where we were asked to sit for about 5 minutes before we were led to our table. China Garden is the most bland and boring place I have ever been too for a romantic evening!!. The tables were all bear with no coverings off any kind. We only booked it because when you Google it some photos come up that look nice? The wall decoration is confusing and does not suggest it is a Chinese restaurant? There was no decoration to suggest it was Valentines Day, no mood lighting, no music, no table covers, no candles,  no plates, absolutely nothing? The only decoration was a tissue with a knife and fork on it. The waiter didn't look like a waiter. He wore a wooly skull cap, a black shirt and what looked like creased jeans? He just didn't look the part. The only good thing about him was that he was polite. All the prices on the  menu were quite expensive. We ordered drinks and my wife's Orange Juice came with ice. She said she did not want ice. The waiter brought over another glass and with tonges removed the ice from her glass but left a spillage. The food we ordered was average and nothing to sing about. About nearer to closing time when all service was done the cook came out to meet everyone. She was polite. I'm not trying to knock the restaurant but I feel more effort could have been done to make Valentines Day a little more special.
Great restaurant. Friendly and welcoming staff offering excellent service. Excellent food, selection of wines and bottled beer. Parking available. Now also offering delivery service.
We were welcomed by such a lovely lady who served us all of our food and drink throughout our visit and all the other customers. She was so friendly and kind to our whole group. She made the evening even more special. The food was delicious and we had a lovely pleasant evening. Thank you so much.
Totally disappointed! I had to calm down before writing this review as it would have been 1 star. The eating in prices are far too expensive. Most expensive Chinese restaurant we've even been to. They even tried to charge me £11 for my 6yr old starter dish. Two of our soft drinks had black floaters in, they did change them straight away though. It took over 50 minutes for our starter to arrive ordered three, for the four of us. Such a shame as the food was nice, but they take more pride in getting the delivery's out. I spoke with the manager about being there over two hours for a sharing starter and a main each and he just replied on Saturday's we are busy with delivery's. They should take more time and care with the seated customers, as they we paying like 80% more to eat in. Never again for us!.

Very rude customers service here, we left ourselves after just have had the starter and drinks. Customer next table to us, left without paying only because they were made to wait for about an hour or so. So that put us off from continuing our meals. Never seen this sort of behaviour towards customers.. It was a total disgraceful.
Lovely takeaway. Only ever eaten in once but tend to use the take away here. Easy to get find and get to, good parking area a little old fashioned inside. Excellent portions of good quality tasty Chinese food. Prices a little higher than other local takeaways but it's worth paying. The only downside is poor on line presence and lack of online menu visibility. I am sure more people would use the China Garden if it provided an on line ordering system such as Just Eat. Try the place once. Make sure it's the correct China Garden. You'll be surprised at the level of quality.
1st ever visit. Called in without reservation. It was a busy Friday night but there was no hesitation with offering a choice from the few clear tables. Service was friendly & polite. Bit of a wait for food but it was lovely when it arrived - nicely cooked & presented. Good value. We were not rushed at any point. Restaurant nicely fitted out though not very large. Easy to find on Robin Hood Island on main Stratford Road A34 at Hall Green. Biggest drawback was small parking area at rear but other parking on nearby roads/shop fronts available. Definitely worth another visit.
The best Chinese I've ever had by a long shot and I've lived in the Far East for over a year of my life. Sure its a bit pricier than most, but its an actual restaurant. Puts the likes of Ming Moons to shame, without contest. I wouldn't consider anywhere else for my oriental dishes since finding the place. Takeaway is also just as good!
Lovely food and great service. I have found with many other Chinese restaurants that they all tend to taste the same. Definitely not here, the food is fresh and is full of flavour. The takeaways are as good as sitting in.
