Would love to give this place more stars as their food is delicious, never had a problem with the food. We are always satisfied with what we order and how good it tatste. However the staff are incompetent and the manager can never admit when he is in the wrong, they state on their menu free dish when you spend over £38, then when you say what you want as a free dish they say 'no, price too much, you must choose less price', well you don't state that on the menu and then on another occasions they say 'oh that is old menu you must spend £40', but yet they send menus with the food that still says spends £38.Will be ordering less from them. Change you business management style and this could be an amazing place.
I ordered this food two days ago but I'm only recovering from it now. I ordered the food around 9pm ish on a Friday night. I was recommended this restaurant & I thought why not try something new from my usual. The food was delivered to me. Omg. Never ever ever again. I even got mad at the person who recommended it. First thing in the morning I was in and out of the toilet. From 6:30am - 8:30am. And my stomach wouldn't settle days after. I should've known by the look of the food & the taste. Very dry & seemed like it had been sitting around. That's some poor food hygiene standards there.
I remember when this premises used to be across the road, known as Andrea's Fish Bar 1990's - sometime late 2000 where they served fish & chips, all varieties of fish and sausages, along with an extensive Chinese dish menu. Back then the prices were very good, £3.50 for a combination box any appetiser with rice in a silver box. Then they increased prices as years went by. Now it's like £7 !! I understand prices increases due to inflation but the increase is ridiculously too much imo. I don't order from here as much as I used to back in the good ole days though. Price increase is ridiculous, I'd rather go Central London for similar sized meals for around the same price.
Love the crispy aromatic duck. Salt and pepper squid and mixed vegetable or duck noodle soup specifically. Always quick delivery and food arrives hot and yummy. The staff are always super friendly and accommodating.
First-ever visit. Ordered Pad Thai takeaway. The food was OK but very bland. I checked several Pad Thai recipes on the web -- coriander, lime juice, fish sauce, chilli powder, tamarind sauce were very much missing from my dish. Peanuts were served whole, not crushed as the recipe required. China City is sitting in a middle of the strip of fiercely competitive and usually excellent Turkish restaurants. If they undertake to offer authentic Thai dishes, they could spend a fraction more out-of-pocket to add proper fire and spice. I am sure that their clients can handle it. I will try their Chinese dishes next time before I give up on the place.
joke a takeaway. never experienced such incompetence in my life. the owner refused to admit their driver gave my food to the wrong house and refused to refund my money despite it being their fault. avoid this place like the plague. thankfully justeat covered the mistake of these theives. hopefully this puts you off your order from here.
We found SEVERAL flies in the food duck soup. Had to pay £6 for 2 juices and a cheap tea bag after refusing to eat. On the way out we had a look for the food hygiene rating anywhere. Definitely AVOID!!!!!
The best dish was the steamed rice. The Pad Thai wasn't a Pad Thai and the two other dishes were non descript. If you want your worst meal ever order from here. It's put me off Chinese takeaways for now.
Lived in the area forever and have been eating here very regularly and never had any problems. They’re always friendly with me, I guess you get what you give when it comes to attitude and friendliness. Never had any problems with the food so I recommend it
Polite staff and food was quite enjoyable Ordered schezuan prawns, egg fried rice and hot and sour soup. Prawns couod have been spicier but soauce was really nice. Not the best but good
