We have just spent a week here. Our cottage was a 3 bedroom and we had 5 adults and a toddler. The cottage was spacious, clean. The rooms were lovely, our mattress was a bit firmer than we would choose but that a personal preference. There is a laundry room if required, one thing to bare in mind, you need pound coins for the elctric meter. You get £10 free which does last a long time, we topped up £7 but we did cook a few times. It is quiet and off the beaten track, nice place to go for a walk. There is a tennis court you can use too. Everything is about 30 mins away which is fine, quick to drive there.
Wonderful owners. Well equipped cottage and superb location with beautiful surroundings. We stayed in one of the smaller cottages for a few nights and it was perfect for 4 of us. They have larger cottages available too. There are washing and drying facilities, board games and books available. Perfect location for beaches, day trips and walks. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely quiet location. Lots of lovely walks in the area dog friendly accommodation and close to beach and Isle of Wight Pearl. The beach is accessed down steep steps and there are no facilities but that's the beauty of it! Cottage had everything we needed including wifi and was clean and comfortable. Not the most upmarket but this is reflected in the very reasonable price. The properties have character as converted from stables. Host was friendly and helpful. Recommended 'get away from it all' !
Charming farm cottages and B&B close to the ocean and beach walking when the tide is out. Dog friendly! The host is friendly and happy to help. There is a lot to do and explore both on the farm and close by.
We spent a lovely week here at Chilton farm. They have a good selection of cottages with B&B option too. We opted for self catering. The cottages are well kitted and comfortable. You are given credit on the electric meter and if you spend more, you have to top it up. We got £10 for 7 of us and we only had to top it up with £4. There is a launderette free of charge. There are two tennis courts, pretty new surface. Car park on the side of the site. The quad boasts of a lovely grassy area with some apple trees and a covered BBQ area and picnic tables around. There is 4G connectivity. Our shower lacked a bit of water pressure. Our cooker was on the old side but other cottages had brand new ones so they are clearly renewing their equipment. The BBQ here was old and rusty so we used our portable one. The site is only a few minutes from the beach. You can actually walk there. Great local shop and bars nearby too. It's nearly a 5 star for me and I would definitely stay there again. Really friendly people running the place.
Great location, very quiet, views of open countryside. Friendly owners & good coronavirus precautions. Walking distance to the beach though not a good swimming beach as lots of waves. Excellent village shop nearby with local cheese & milk and good fruit and veg. Cottage very clean though cooker and shower rather old in Damson Cottage.Rooms: 4/5
Amazing place, nice location but in an unfriendly atmosphere! Baths and living place were not very clean. No clear instructions for arrival. We were not told about the breakfast. Instead of asking, do you want breakfast? you are making your own, do you!! No milk provided, though the place is a FARM! No shower gel or tiny soap. We had to top up £2 electricity meter, but we were told meter had enough balance. We could have paid extra for these but clearly we have been ignored. Next day morning are you checking out, do you!! Instead of asking, how was your stay? you enjoyed your stay, do you!! Clearly she does not want us back there again! then why bother accepting our first ! Thank you very much.
We have stayed at Hazel Cottage for the past three years and absolutely love coming here. Sue is so welcoming and helpful booking our ferry tickets at a much cheaper rate and the setting of the courtyard makes for a very sociable and family friendly setting. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and Brighstone Village is a short drive away. There are plenty of animals in nearby fields to keep the children amused, such as cows, sheep and even the resident horse Merlin. It's a great base for exploring the rest of the island and I would have no hesitation in recommending Chilton Farm.
One of the attractive places to visit with family and friends for relaxing times and probably central location to explore your tour around Isle of Wight. Big and open rooms, country side very peaceful, Very friendly owner, BBQ venue n Tennis courts, free car parking and free WiFi are the best facilities of the Chilton Farm.
We have just come back from one week in Appletree Cottage in Chilton Farm. It has all it says in advert but the furnishings were in very poor state of repair a sofa had board underneath the cushions which was so uncomfortable. The whole property needed a good clean and a actual coat of paint and fresh soft furnishings. There was a very unusual smell in our bedroom and beds were uncomfortable it didn't make it a very inviting accommodation.
