Chester Football Club

Story

The Deva Stadium is an association football stadium in the United Kingdom, that is the home of Chester F.C., the effective successor club to the liquidated Chester City F.C. The name Deva comes from the original Roman name for the fort Deva Victrix, which became the city of Chester, in North West England. The Deva Stadium opened in 1992, two years after the closure of Chester City's Sealand Road stadium; in the intervening two seasons the club had played at Macclesfield Town's Moss Rose stadium.HistoryWhen a new owner took over Chester City in March 1990, plans were announced to sell its Sealand Road stadium for redevelopment as a supermarket and build a new stadium at nearby Bumpers Lane. While the new stadium was being built they played at the far side of Cheshire at Macclesfield Town F.C.'s Moss Rose stadium. Sealand Road closed at the end of the 1989-90 season, and Chester played at Macclesfield for the next two seasons.Construction of the new stadium began in January 1992 and it opened seven months later in time for the new 1992-93 season.

Just in the area so popped in for a look, one of the groundsmen told me some history about the old & New grounds.
It was brilliqnt the pitch is world class.
Congratulations to the Under 19s
A nice non league ground. Away supporters can sit down the side of the ground. Good view of the pitch. Large car park although it can take some time to get away from the ground as there is only one road for all the traffic. Normal football range of drinks and food including teas, coffees and pies.
Brilliant ground for the level of football, 4 good stands! Ground not very convenient for the city center as its around half an hour walk.
Great ground. Food and drink are well priced and every so often you see a blinder of a game! Player are also very approachable to all the kids!
Had my Wedding reception there, loved it.
