Chester Cathedral is an incredible experience, and the best part is it’s free! The architecture is absolutely stunning, with intricate details that leave you in awe. The serene atmosphere inside offers a peaceful retreat from the bustling city. The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the visit with interesting historical insights. Don’t miss the beautiful gardens and the tower tour for panoramic views of Chester. A must-visit for anyone in the area!nnThere is also a cafe on site with toilets.
Really enjoyed my jaunt around this Cathedral. The stained glass windows were impressive as well as the carved wooden pews and altar. The team were really nice and were out and about telling visitors a bit about the cathedral and the history. It's also free and a donation is generally appreciated.
A must visit if you're in Chester. To really appreciate the cathedral, I highly recommend booking the tower tour. Our guide Emma was wonderful. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy a stunning view from the top over the neighbouring counties and Wales.nnThe gift shop and the cafe were also good. Vegan options available.
What a beautiful place. Just couldn't believe the entry was free. The place was beautiful lit up with lights and the architecture itself just merges with the Roman street outside.nnEvery place has the history written.nnThe cafe inside was also spacious and worth having a cup of coffee under the roof of romb building.
A very interesting cathedral to visit. The cafe is great in a large adjoining hall. The staff were very friendly and the quality of the food was excellent, plus it was very busy even at 3pm. At the moment they have a curious array of glass oddities from a local shop. Great to look at but not cheap.
