Used the packing service - some questionable decisions made as to what to put in a box together, but overall good and took a lot of stress off. Actual house move went well. The problems were with the 'selfstorage'. Website states 'we can cater for any of your storage needs. 24 HOUR ACCESS – All of our self storage units are covered by CCTV, with fob access out of office hours.' That's what we asked for. Day of the move the guys turn up in a truck with 2 big storage crates for the storage part of the move. These would go in their warehouse and we could only access during office hours - not what we wanted. After some confused phone calls they offer to sort a unit out at SafeStore for us and put everything in there. Turns out their 'selfstorage' option is not actually in their units, but SafeStore. We ended up needing storage longer than planned so I go to SafeStore to cancel the unit and rent a smaller one in my name rather than paying Cheshire Removals who then pay SafeStore. Without my knowledge Cheshire Removals have changed the unit contract to a year long one, causing a nightmare when it comes to downsizing the unit which the lovely people at SafeStore manage to eventually sort out. Despite me checking notice terms before changing unit, Cheshire Removals refuse to refund several weeks hire. Also turns out that they have been massively overcharging me for the unit for months - I would have saved hundreds by just dealing with SafeStore directly. Fine for removals, but if you need 24hour access storage, don't believe their misleading website and just deal with SafeStore from the start to save yourself a headache!
