CDC consists of 48 councillors representing 16 wards (3 members per ward). The council is made of 38 Conservative, 8 Labour and 2 Independent councillors.
Cherwell District Council is part of three-tier local authority structure and is based at Bodicote House near Banbury, Oxfordshire.
A third of the councillors are up for election every year, with a county council election taking place on the fourth year. Each councillor is elected for a four-year term.
