Thank you for a lovely birthday . They were most accommodating. My cake was hidden and bought out at the end of the meal - with plates and cutlery. The Goats cheese and walnut salad was very nice. I didn't have a starter but the rest of the family did and they all enjoyed their food. I don't know what to expect on a menu these days, I am used to seeing only one or two dishes suitable for vegetarians but I was hoping for more. My sister started with gnocchi and parmesan rennet? and I was tempted by the cheese salad but decided against it as I was having cheese and salad for my main. She then had the Mushrooms with chilli, tomato, onion and a butter bean mash. If I could eat that without consequences, it would be great. Maybe a plain spaghetti with garlic in olive oil as a quick, cheap and fast cooking alternative? Just an extra vegetarian dish? If you're not veggie I am sure you will not moan at all. Well worth a visit.
Room nicely sized and comfy toilet seat needs replacing chipped and damaged especially underneath also could do with a shower curtain on the bath if possible.nBusy road outside but not pubs fault and they do supply a fan so you can shut the windows.nStaff really friendly especially the lovely lady at breakfast which was nice breakfast is additional charge but excellent quality.nReally nice location only a short walk to the abbey and main stretch less than 10minutes.nWould stay again and would of all been 5 stars all round but for a few bits in the room.
Felt so welcomed here. Delicious food, good pints, great people all around. Izzie, hoping I spelt her name right haha, is a warm, funny, and great bartender who is an absolute joy.nnI'm so glad I stayed here and dined here, would come back to this Inn next time I travel to Battle.
Great service. Friendly staff. Pricey accommodation for what it is. Room 3 is on the main road.... VERY noisy. No air con, very small shower/toilet. Food is on the pricey side aswell. A small cooked breakfast is £14..... Good sized car park and nice beer garden.
Stayed here for two days to check out the Battle of Hastings battlefield which was close by. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was extremely friendly and the food and beer were delicious. I’d go with the fish n chips. Nothing like it in Los Angeles where we’re from.
