Gorgeous pub - A proper pub! As soon as I walked in I instantly felt welcomed and safe, I absolutely adored the machine to put bags over your muddy shoes after a walk, it's genius! The lady who owns the pub is simply lovely and didn't mind any questions we asked, we had to ask as we loved the look of the pub and needed to know more and her story was so heartwarming and lovely she does alot for the community. Only ordered coffee and left with such a lovely feeling
Old fashioned, small traditional pub in a pretty rural location, popular with walkers and locals alike. Log fires, home cooked food, not pretentious at all. This is not a pub chains recreation of the traditional pub, this is the real thing, where horse brasses and copper kettles are the order of the day, and you can sit and read a paper, step back to the 1950's oblivious to the modern world whilst the rest of the world rushes by. The ladies toilet us inside, the gents in an an annex so man up in cold weather! If you boots are muddy, the landlord provides over shoes for you to wear. As there are no phone masts, phone connections in this area are poor, however the pub does provide wi-fi for customers. We enjoyed a home made burger and chips, McDonalds eat your heart out!
Fantastic little pub with lovely friendly staff. A proper traditional pub with great food and lots of vegan options today they had sausage and mash, shepherds pie, nut roast with chips/potatoes, ploughman's and more!
Lovely people and delicious food. The homemade burger is honestly the nicest burger I’ve ever had - the meat quality is so so good! Lovely ales too
Great little pub, excellent food at a reasonable price. Nice and quite, no music blaring out. Would definitely recommend.
Cloudy ale, anaemic potatoes and a seemingly highly stressed landlady.. when i questioned the ale, she asked if i wanted thunder and lighting with it, very strange establishment. Gave it two stars for giving my dog a water bowl.
Lovely place, has a old world charm. The staff were really nice and friendly. Had Sunday lunch here, which to be honest was fantastic and great value for money. May be off the beaten track but we'll worth a visit and deserving of the 5 star rating
Great food and friendly service. We had a party of thirteen and they accommodated us very nicely indeed.
Great little pub with a good range of beer and fantastic home cooked food.
Great atmosphere, dog friendly and they even give them treats !
