My Son went to this school years ago, he was thought very well, they were very good teachers, all very understanding, he now has a good job today, and I also worked as this school, it was lovely to work with the children, teachers. Children, workers, all worked like a team, Everyone got on with everyone. My son attended this school from reception to the end of year 5. He has autism and moderate learning difficulties. The support he had through his time there was excellent. My son has wonderful memories of his time there.
This school is not for the kid even with mild special needs specially in autism sector. In the start they will give you excuses of why kid is not learning. Then they make the environment that your kid end up either in other school or special school. so please do not waste your kid time and please keep in mind that kid with special needs time is more precious then a normal kid.
My son attended Chantry Primary Academy from Nursery. He is now in high school, Year 7. During his time at Chantry he was diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome, which meant he had difficulty with making friends, understanding what is expected of him with schoolwork and generally seeming as 'odd' to others. The school put in place everything he needed and went above and beyond what was expected. Ultimately my son very much enjoyed his time there and the teachers were kind, professional and treated him with respect. The SENCo special needs co-ordinator at this school was fantastic. A big thanks to all the teachers who played a vital role in my son's life while there, he has developed into a fine young man with whom, as parents, we are very proud.
this school is a disgrace, i am not happy with the progress my cousin is making in this school. They care more about the appearence of the child than their actual education. they're okay to criticise your parenting skills but don't acknowledge the fact that they have failed to teach a six year old the alphabet. also when a child has a learning difficulty, for example dyslexia, they use it as an excuse as to why the child isnt learning.
