Me and my partner have been there twice now. Once for dinner and once for lunch, both times I can honestly say are among the best experiences I have ever had eating out, the waiters are professional and outgoing but not pushy in any way, the kitchen staff work in sight of the customers and always appear to be working hard to create dishes that literally blow my mind. I have eaten things that I hate prawns, cucumber, tomato, yes I'm a fussy duck at this restaurant and enjoyed them. If you haven't been, give this place a go... It is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to thus far. Much love to the owner and staff!
I've been coming to Chantek for years, and it's been consistently good. Nice decor and atmosphere, and the food is delicious and fresh-tasting. Staff are always friendly and attentive. The second floor space is funky and great if there's a party of you.
Pretty disappointed, especially with the wait time for the food. OK so we were a big group who had preordered, 19ish people. However they asked us to pre order so they knew what we wanted. Waiters came out with one order at a time, instead or 3 or 4. Some people had finished their meal before others had even received theirs. Cocktails were good though, and staff were friendly. I just don't think they have experience with dealing with big groups.
Amazing! The best meal out I've had in a very long time. Total kudos to the chef, amazing menu, everything tasted fresh, hot, just the right amount of spice! Cannot rate this place more! Will recommend to all friends!
Delicious food. Take away also available. Tastefully decorated, Nice environment and good for large functions upstairs. Waits can be long at busy times as per anywhere but the food is very very good.
Quite mediocre to be fair The interior and atmosphere is nice but the staff need a kick up the backside. We must of waited 15 mins for our order to be taken the restaurant wasn’t busy and we had the table right by the bar then another 20 minutes to clean away our starter plates. The food was good we ordered tampura prawns and Japanese potato cake for starters, green Thai curry and beef paneer for main but nothing to write home about. Could be so so much better ....
They gave me still frozen vegtable spring rolls; the waitor replaced them. When the bill arrived, the waitor proudly told me he hadnt changed me the first lot and the secend lot are half price. Just the spring rolls overall the service was terrible which cost him a tip. A mistake from the kitchen can be forgiven if the waiter handles it well. I'd prefer not the insult of something given to me half price to appease me.
One of the best meals I've ever had. As vegetarian almost vegan I appreciate that you can order a vegetarian alternative for almost every dish on the menu. Very friendly staff, too.
May have been an off day for the chef, but to describe the food as Asian, Thai, Japanese etc is a flight of fancy. My tempura starter was covered in thick, overcooked batter that would disgrace a local chippy and my so-called teriyaki beef tasted just like a Chinese stir-fry - nothing was remotely Japanese about it at all.
Very lovely place, great food and service here
