I have enjoyed though infrequently visits to Champneys. The products used their own, Elemis and Clarins are so wonderful! I'm a particular fan of Elemis. Hot stone massage is excellent here, abd you get a lot of choice to tailor treatments to your requirements and your budget. Which I love. For example today I was encouraged to go due to the Winter Warmer offer: two treatments for £60. I had a £5 credit to use too. Then upon arrival, I was invited to add boosts to my treatments - just £5 for many or X3 for £12. I chose a cooling eye mask, to upgrade to hot stones, and to upgrade my facial. It was soooo relaxing. The building is very old and higgledy-piggledy but it's part of its charm! The rooms are nice, with very comfortable couches with toasty warm electric blanket underneath. Perfect in this weather. You are recommended products used in your treatment s but there's no hard sell. Just advice, should you wish to have it. Plus there's always some brilliant offers: great gifting and samples or gifts when you buy. I really love the feeling I've snuck away from the "rat race" and entered a spa. I just wish I didn't have to return to reality so quickly!!
Mairead was absolutely lovely and really great, she asked me about if the pressure was right a good amount and made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. Was a great way to start my birthday, thank you so much! Definitely recommend x
My fiancé booked a wonderful and much needed massage for me on my birthday a couple of years ago. We live in Cornwall but came away for a few days and he surprised me with this treat. I have a few health problems but the masseur can't remember her name was wonderful and was very gentle and I even nodded off. Champneys is my absolute favourite product. I won't go for anything else
Great experience, I recieved a full body deep tissue massage followed by a head and scalp massage by Indigo, she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and did a great job of getting rid of all my knots in my shoulders! Thankyou Indigo!
It’s taken me a while to post this review but it’s been playing on my mind - I usually never post negative reviews. I had a 55 min deep tissue massage £72! booked on 17th August 2018 for 10am. The therapist didn’t turn up until 10.20am, apologising for her lateness, I thought ‘fine, these things happen, they’ll let my treatment run a little later. The treatment was then finished at 10.55am so I was dressed and out by 11am. I find this wholly unacceptable. The massage itself was light, not even medium massage - I was not given the opportunity to give feedback about the massage. I’ve unfortunately had lots of friends giving the same sort of feedback, late therapists, rushed treatments nails, muddled appointment times.
First time visit and I have to say it was perfect, felt really well cared for and Kacey & Jordan were lovely! What was a one off treat will likely be a more frequent occurrence
This salon's staff are soo lazy! 4 times I have been in trying to book a spray tan that my mum put money there for me to use and the staff, who are all congregated around the till system look at you and say that they cannot do it as they are too busy! Once, I did manage to book in after my mum but when I walked in, they said that I had missed my appointment I had been waiting outside for her to come out! There was however someone else who had gone in instead! Also, not once did anyone say that I had to have a patch test, throughout all the visits... It would have provided them with an extra reason to not allow me to have it done after venturing into town yet again, no doubt about that whatsoever! I have now asked that the money be put back to my mum as I clearly cannot have an appointment or have a treatment! I used to have my own salon and am really disappointed and disgusted by their attitude. They are snobbish and clearly do not want to work any harder to please all customers!
Massage was good but upstairs was abit grubby. Had to wait for staff to stop chatting to friends on the phone meaning my appointment was late so less time for my massage. Abit disappointing for the cost. Probably wouldn't go again.
Lovely staff amazing treatments at a decent price. Would have been 5 stars if not for the sheer amount of narrow and sometimes steep stairs to the top treatment rooms
