Beyond frustrating trying to make use of this health service. It’s been over a month and a half since I sent in my first blood test. I had a 2 week wait before being told that I needed to send in another sample. It’s now been another month since sending the second sample in. Last week I was assured that the sample had been checked by the lab and was fine, the only reason for the continued delay was a backlog and that I can expect my result soon. Today I receive a text informing me they have been unable to get a result. No further elaboration. I can’t help but wonder if the lab has given up on a heap of human beings in order to reduce their backlog. I can’t imagine what was wrong with my blood samples, but I may as well have sent ketchup for all the use Chalmers can make of them. It seems most of the negative reviews on here are to do with the hold times and call centre staff. I’m here to tell you their lab is also a complete disaster. Hey, at least they’re consistent.
Been trying to get an IUD appointment for 6 weeks, and nothing. What is a woman supposed to do? If men needed this service, the waiting times wouldn't be this ridiculous. Its time Lothian sexual health took women's health seriously. GPs refuse to do it. Privately it costs hundreds. I'm tired of always being fobed off.
Hard working dedicated staff, but the department & system is a total disgrace. Expect to wait an hour for your call to be answered, just to be met by a stressed obnoxious member of staff, more annoying than the recorded message, and as useful as chocolate condom!
Staff are so friendly and transparent. Super kind and take the time. Gorgeous building too, which makes sitting in there more calm.
In this day and age, it is unacceptable that the online booking system can't handle booking appointments beyond a month in advance, or at least have a waiting list. There are never any appointments available. How are women meant to get the service they need when we have to wait ages for the off-chance you can actually book thru the online system? I ended up going to a private practice last year to have my copper coil removed because I wasn't going to wait on this system to get pregnant. And once again I'm going back to a private practice to have a coil put back on. Absolutely disgraceful.
What does someone need to do to make an appointment? It is impossible. The NHS is broken beyond repair. This is absolutely disgusting.
Absolutely useless, the booking system never has any appointments, I check every few days and every time I try and phone up, on hold for up to an hour. The few times I have got through they claim to 'not hear me properly' and hang up. The receptionists I have spoken to have been abrasive and rude. The services are inaccessible, despite being an essential service. I need my IUD out ASAP and this is extremely distressing.
Unable to book an appointment online to receive important medical care. Have called most days but never gotten through as usually 30th in the queue and then the phones cut off at 3:30pm. Unable to access the service anywhere else, what am I meant to do?
Worst call centre I've came across, on hold for what was meant to be 18 minutes turned into more than a hour so i gave up. The staff either ignore the calls or there is 1 person answering the phone. I then tried getting appointment on line which does not work at all, according to their calender they have no appointments at all
