I've had my hair coloured here a few times now and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I have black hair and now it's bright purple balayage and I love it. I've had so many compliments on it I've been to various places before over the years to get crazy colours and it's never turned out how I wanted it, until Chalk and Danielle. She's amazing - thank you!
Always come out feeling like a new woman! Love all the hairdressers here. Great place for colour and great to go if you're dying your hair for the first time because they take the time to give great advice. Very accommodating too.
I’ve got my hair cut here 3 times because it’s local to me by different stylists but unfortunately the salon isn’t for me. I find it stressful to have to stand up for the cut, it’s not blended and I dislike the finish — it’s usually flat and doesn’t hold. I prefer a voluminous and bouncy blow out which I haven’t received here. They’re nice & friendly and the salon is well kept. Like I said it’s not for me but doesn’t mean it’s not for you. I didn’t want to give them 3 stars. I’m sad to say I won’t be back though.

Best salon ever. I chase them for almost an year trying to book an appointment- they are very busy. They are great in all the aspects. They made me feel so special. Finally found a place in London where I can say my haircut is perfect. Paula was great. See you soon guys

Really great experience here the other day. My hair was in desperate need of a cut and just some general love and care. I've recently moved into the area and had read some great reviews of Chalk and it's owner Paula, so booked in with her for a hair cut. I wasn't disappointed, from the moment I walked in there I was really well taken care of, Paula and team are warm and friendly and I left the salon feeling like a million dollars with the best hair cut I've had in a really long time. So refreshing to find someone that also knows how to deal with curly hair after some terrible experiences at other places!! Will DEFO be going back there very soon and taking my curly haired kids too! Thanks guys xx
The best salon I have ever been to. The staff are great and it always feels like such a treat getting my hair cut there, just what I need at the end of a stressful week! Fran does a great cut and always listens to what I want and makes good suggestions. Highly recommend
This review was written by my wife Alex Jackson-Long who has just come home from her appointment at Chalk: This is my second appointment at Chalk. The first one was to get my teenage daughter's hair cut. I really liked the staff and ambience of the salon and the hair cut that Paula gave her was perfect even by the standards of a very hard-to-please 14yr old!, so I thought I'd try the place out for myself. I couldn't be more pleased with my colour done by the lovely Danielle this afternoon. It was a particularly tricky job as I have extensions in my hair which looked rather mismatched colour-wise with my previous colour/growing out roots. Danielle really took the time to give me the shade of blonde I wanted all over my head and I'm absolutely delighted with the results. I must also mention the warm and attentive service also given by the Chalk trainee stylist Chris. I was offered complimentary tea & cakes, a delicious elderflower Bellini and he even went out to top up the parking fee on my car! There's no need to drag into the west end any more. We now finally have a really cool salon in this part of North London where customers are given personal, friendly service from stylists who really take pride in giving you exactly what you ask for plus expert advice and no pushing of products either. I really hope the local community spread the word to ensure this fairly new business gets the support it deserves. 10/10.
After months of looking for somewhere I trusted to cut my hair after over a year, I've found it! Absolutely in love with my new hair. Paula is fantastic. Gorgeous salon, lovely cuppa and great chat. Totally delighted that I decided to go into Chalk. I'll be visiting from Scotland! Thank you so much!
