You decide if this is customer care. Booked 2 caravan pitches. Paid £40 deposit for 3 nights mid week - not weekend/bank hols, 5 months hence. After 3 hours was told my Swift Challenger single axle is 35cms over their length restriction. Please cancel? was told sternly no refunds. After much ado was refunded £30 and told they will forward the remaining £10. They didn't.
An excellent B&B in a gorgeous, superbly renovated and characterful old house, minutes from the Settle to Carlisle station in the village, and brilliantly situated for exploring lovely Ribblesdale. Robert and Jane truly are first class hosts, individually attentive to guests, always warm, friendly and engaging with plenty of suggestions for local visits and sightseeing. Our room was super comfortable and luxuriously appointed, with fabulous views over the garden and countryside to Pen y Ghent. We enjoyed some wonderful days out in kind March weather, greeted with treats of brownies and scones upon return! What's not to like! Robert's scrumptious breakfasts are the best start to the day imaginable. Looking forward to a return visit, and no we've no hesitation at all in recommending Rowe House to anyone wishing for a quiet and relaxing break in The Dales.
Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. A great base for exploring the Dales. The overriding impression after staying here is one of attention to detail. Jane & Robert clearly apply meticulous organisation to every aspect of running their B&B. On arrival, we were warmly welcomed and offered tea and cake. Our bedroom was scrupulously clean and very comfortable; nicely furnished with everything we needed. High quality complimentary toiletries are provided, together with generous tea/coffee-making facilities including cafetière and home-made biscuits. There is also a sitting/dining room for guests to use and a snug which doubles up as a drying room and tuck shop. Breakfast was beautifully presented see photos and tasted as good as it looked. There are plenty of options aside from the highly-recommended “Full Yorkshire”. Little touches - such as complimentary scones with jam and cream - helped make the stay a special experience. We are looking forward to returning.
The best place to stay. It's first time me and my family travelled to one of UK's National Parks. The view from the window was breathtaking, we also enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the owner. My serious father told me it was a great stay, with clean and tidy surroundings, warm hosts and delicious breakfast.Rooms: 5/5
Lovely room. Comfy beds, Free WiFi. Warm welcome & very well looked after by Jane & Robert. Delicious Scones, & full Yorkshire Breakfast set us up for the day perfectly. Exactly what we needed to prepare for, & recover from, our hike. Boot room for drying boots, tuck shop for snacks. Close to local Station & Pub. Rowe House is one of the reasons they call Yorkshire "God's country"
We stayed in the Shippon self-catering barn located in the garden of the Rowe House in May 2022. The accommodation is within close walking distance of Horton station on the Settle-Carlisle railway, so ideal for anyone not planning to drive. The accommodation is impeccable - very comfortable and an ideal size for a couple. It's a great option if you wanted to stay more than a night or two in the area as there's space to relax and even get some work done if you need to. As others have mentioned, the hosts, Robert and Jane, pay great attention to detail and are very attentive. They are willing to help in any way they can, but will also leave you to your own devices should you wish - just as it should be with self-catering accommodation. The view from the garden - which you are free to use - is outstanding. We hope we can return for a longer stay.
A very warm welcome, a wonderful breakfast and a super location from which to explore. Jane and Robert have created a cosy and comfortable experience. Our room was stunning with lovely touches, such as fresh mint for tea with soft lighting and a very comfortable bed, it was homely and with a lovely view of the kitchen garden. They have plenty of information about the local area for all interests whether walking or not!, a wee snack shop and options of packed lunches both very reasonably priced extras. We look forward to staying again
A very comfortable stay with Jane and Robert, who are very friendly and welcoming. Room was lovely and the breakfast really excellent. A little cake on my return from the 3 peaks was very welcome!
This is a great place to stay, very convenient for local walks and the owners are both very friendly and helpful. I was doing the 3 peaks challenge and they also offered a very useful packed lunch to take which made everything a lot easier. Room was very clean and had everything you need. Highly recommend.Rooms: 5/5
Jane & Robert couldn't have been more helpful. The rooms were lovely and the food was all delicious and clearly made with love. This is a perfect spot for anyone wanting to explore the area, and is also really well set up to cater for people attempting the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, with options for early breakfasts and packed lunches. Couldn't recommend enough!
