Great day out and lots of fun for the kids! Plenty to see and do, especially if you catch the shows they run every day in the different zones. Space zone is awesome! There is also a large play area, an arts/drawing area, area with tables to eat a packed lunchthe centre allows this. My only gripe would be the cost of the tickets!
First time that I take my kids 6 and 9 at the Life Science Centre. We spent 5 hours there!!! There is so much to do and see it's worth the £31 entrance fee. We parked across Life and can book your parking at the same time you book your tickets and get a slight discount. On top of all the things you can do, there are also three shows, two at the planetarium, The Bear for young kids and Orion about the constellation, etc. The third show was at the Science Centre and it was about light and why we see colours. There is a cafe to get food and drinks but you can also bring your own food and have lunch there.
Kids loved the different science experiments that they could do and we watched a few shows too
Excellent place to visit with children. Activities over 3 levels. The activities are targeted for different age ranges. Interactive science labs for the over 10s. Maker space for kids to get creative. Regular films broadcast in the central planetarium, every 20-30 mins. Interactive science demonstrations with a 'time machine', every hour. Soft play for younger children on the top level. Enough to keep children entertained for the whole day.
Fab day. Plenty of activities and things to do, next to the station, nice cafe. Spent 4 hours here with my 11 year old, probably more for her age than younger kids.Visited onWeekend
Hands on activity for kids. Car parking is nearby. Kids enjoyed the place especially the experiment place.
What a fantastic place to visit. We planned to spend a couple of hours here, and spent all day! We all adults and children aged 9, 11 and 13 really enjoyed it and learned something. The show was really good, the experiment zone was great, we loved putting our instincts to the test in the brain zone. I can't praise it highly enough!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The kids really enjoyed this place. Lots for them to do. Also interesting for adults. I would recommend as a place to go with the family. My only negative was it was a little pricey, we have twin toddlers and the total cost was £50 for 2 adults 2 children. Cafe was nice, with really good coffee and cakes.
Good place for kids to explore. Not really suitable for tea agers and adults. The staff was OK but not very helpful.Visited onWeekendWait time1 hr+
I really loved the visit to the Life Science Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. There are a lot of activities to do, many things to explore and experience. It's a fun day trip with your family and kids. What I loved the most is the Science explainers knowledge, professionalism and smiles which made the shows like Astronomy and Fire & Ice so much engaging and interesting. There is a cafe right next to the gifts area which was very affordable and offered light snacks. The overall experience was amazing.
