Nice views from the central Pier. Ample space for sitting and toilets are available inside the amusement area. Lots of Blackpool souvenirs available for you to choose from to bring back home as a gift for your family and friends. Great place to spend time with kids and family members in the amusements and have a great time at the central pier.
The cuddly toys in the crane grabber arcade games are one of the few giveaways that you haven’t time travelled back to the mid 1970s when you visit this pier. Baby yodas and Clifford the big red dog gaze at you pleadingly, hoping for escape. Don’t look at the carpet. Pure nostalgia- the sounds and feel of an era that just won’t let go. Worth a visit, out of curiosity at the very least.
Love the old Victorian seating the whole way down the pier. Beautiful views as you’d expect. It was busy with the amusements but not that it impacted us. Went for a pint in the pub and it literally was the worst Guinness I’ve ever tasted. Couldn’t finish it. It was tasteless. There was music playing and a guy getting kids up dancing to keep them entertained but it was just too noisy, the floor and tables were sticky so we moved outside and sat on the seating. Much prefer the North Pier.
The highlight was the cute ride operator on the Waltzer telling me to smile. Celebrating a birthday alone and far away from family I was a little moody and using the rides to try and perk myself up. His cheeky humour made me smile properly for the first time that day. I enjoyed the arcade, the other rides the most terrifying being alone on the ferris wheel and all the staff were so friendly and engaging. Spent a good 2 hours here and it was worth every cent.
Tidy pier in Blackpool. Biggest one I've come across. Lots of things to do including rides, games, a bar, and food stalls. Cracking view at the end. Just go careful with young children as the sides/seats of the pier are very low no more than 3ft.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
They were dismantling the big wheel for refurbishment works whilst we were there. Pier itself closed out of season for maintenance, yet the amusements still open. When it is fully open the rides are very good on here and the atmosphere is brilliant when it's busy.
Free entry, lots of rides for children young and old and a large amusement arcade with free public lavatories. Toilets are also further up the pier too along with a few gift shops, numerous food outlets with a wide range of choices. A large bar is situated on the end of the pier with lots of outdoor seating if you like your drink with a view of either South Blackpool and the pleasure Beach, or North Blackpool and the Tower. All in all, it's free. Free seating, free toilets...what more can you ask for?
Loved it here! The kids had a fantastic time and loved going up the tower! A great day out had by all.Visited onWeekday
Blackpool is what it is, cheap and cheerful and the kids absolutely love it as do the adults. Tons of arcades, restaurants, bars and mega cheap accommodation. There's well and truly something for everyone, just beware of opportunist thieves, as with any seaside resort town. Came here for Blackpool Airshow at the weekend and whilst I'd recommend it, I'd recommend Southport Airshow more. Southport was much less busy, had more shaded areas to escape the heat, and you had a great view of the airshow from anywhere in the town, whereas in Blackpool, as soon as you're off the Promenade the buildings are too tall for you to see anything. Also, it's hard to differentiate the aircraft from all the hundreds of seagulls that start panic-flying everywhere once the jets come in. The Promenade was absolutely hammered and you couldn't move. Blackpool in the school holidays is just so unbelievably busy, so bare that in mind if you want a relaxing day out. Try and go in the term time if you can.
Shame loads of places are only open in the season. I took my kids there this half term and the only place that was open was carousel and a guy with the shop where you can win the prizes. No ice cream no other shops half if not more of them closed. Still it was worth of visit.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
