Only have about 4 gates for a busy station! What a joke, it creates a huge bottleneck even on quiet days, also the huge amount of staff for such a little station is cut back on staff and invest in infrastructure.
Super clean station despite it being very busy! Will say that there are a very small amount of ticket gates is that what they're called? which meant we were waiting for quite a while to actually get to our platform.
Well organised, tickets are easy to obtain and the staff were helpful and friendly. Caught the train to Dawlish in the morning and returned later in the afternoon. A very enjoyable experience.
I’m currently sat waiting for a train here and a drunk man was following me and lingering about me making me feel very uncomfortable. One of your staff just came over to check on me and seemingly has spooked him off. Thank you train station man. I hope this gets fed back to you positively.
This is s small inner city station , it is well located for shopping in Exeter . It is a well lite and spacious station with extra large platforms. There are lifts for easy access and the staff are helpful and friendly , there are vending machines with snacks. The station is well maintained and very clean.
The closest station to the town of Exeter St James Park has the football stadium, Exeter Central is also where I get off whenever I go to Exeter College formerly for A-Levels, and/or, more recently, evening classes. Exeter Central also has a few places neighbouring the station: a mobile/tablet screen repair shop, a wine shop for vinos, an Italian-Turkish cafe named Zuki's, and a pastry restaurant which was formerly a piano store, and a couple of or a few others. With trains being one of the most direct modes of public transport, this is the stop for me whenever I go to Exeter.
Wouldn't normally leave a review for a train station but when I missed the last train due to a delay at a previous station. The station manager I believe got me a taxi to where I needed to be. Legend.
It's a station! However, good location almost in the city centre. Exmouth to Paignton and reverse every 30 minutes. Plus other services to Exeter St David’s to link with the main line into the real SW or up to Bristol and the North, or to Paddington, or to North Devon. Two good cafes immediately outside the main entrance, one of them Turkish. There are also exits at the "wrong" ends of the platforms which give good access to the north of the city centre, and the prison!
Platform rail staff helpful. A lift for ease of moving luggage to other platforms. A good Cafe. Vibrant city full of excellent shops, Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery, one of the South West finest collections.
Terrible. So many staff who are standing around doing nothing. It's an absolute joke. Fire them and get more gates.
