One of the few parking spots that is free for 6 hours. I love it because it’s out of the way and I can take as long as I need to manoeuvre. Also, the parking spaces are of normal size so I don’t need to slide in and out of my car.
Parking suitable for a walk on the Common. Free up to six hours, no same-day return.
Southampton Common is a wonderful place to visit if you come to our city. Great walks, open space & lakes. You must have a drink in the ancient well, very old pub on the Common, The Cowherds.
Ideally positioned for a run, leisurely stroll, walking a dog, pub, kids park, old cemetery itself or as a shortcut, always spaces but is pay & display. Never once seen a traffic warden but one day one will turn up. Depending upon the time very 1st thing in the morning or into the evening and through the night weather, how warm and the day early morning, evening /night b4 sunrise after sunset can get busy on the sharp corner and right to the very end by the vicarage. Cars parked some empty, others some1 still in them. But all will be guys. The woodland can get very very dense and overgrown and during the night when it's dark can get almost pitch black and even during the day quite dark no matter what time tiny clearings, a few larger ones, most away from the Rd and so well hidden impossible to see from the Rd. Perfect for hiding games sometimes if it's really hot there may see guys together totally naked playing as if in R18 rated films!!!
Good place to park. Can get busy on weekends as it's free to park.
