Came here for an early afternoon tea with my Mum and my two daughters and will definitely be visiting again. Really fresh and delicious afternoon tea served with great hot drink options. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. The cafe itself was clean and bright, a really lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be visiting again soon - we’ve got a whole menu to try!
Came here to look at the Halloween Farm it is impressive, especially in the night with the lights, especially the ones that illuminate the dinosaurs. In the day, it's good to visit and pick up a pumpkin or two. If you want food, then I recommend going into the tea room and having something to eat, I recommend the chicken club sandwich, followed by a cake as they are delicious! In the summer months they also have pick your own strawberries. There is also a good play area for the kids and woodland areas to explore. I've been lucky enough to speak to the owners. They're really nice and always grateful for the business!
Do not go here! We paid general admission only and had planned to pay for the fair and other attractions when arriving. We live about 10 minutes away and it took 2 hours to get here due to the floods on the surrounding roads. I understand the farm cannot control the weather. But online they we’re promoting being still open. We arrived and nothing was open. No fair, no food stands, nothing! The cafe was open, but ridiculous prices! £5 for a hot chocolate. Not only that, we had to wait 40 minutes for it to be brought to our table. There were only 3 other families in the cafe! The pumpkin farm was open, but again… Not worth it! A field full of mush and no full pumpkins!
It is a good place for family leisure time spending. Pumpkins are everywhere. The circus show was very surprising and funny. Don't miss the fireworks at night at some reserved days.
Where do I start… Well at first I was like HOW MUCH !! However after being here all day and then breaking down to the price per person I actually think for everything you get it’s actually a great experience and definitely worth going. For 5 of us we spent £50 each but that got us the use of absolutely everything including spending money on 3 big fairground rides and the huge big wheel, so when you take all that into account I’d say that’s a really good day out, yes expensive but there is so much to do here. I would recommend getting here at 1pm and do the circus at 5pm, we found this perfect for us and also allowed us time to sit and have a drink.
Halloween Farm event - £37 for an adult and toddler. Arrived on the very first day expecting big things based on all the good reviews it gets however it was a complete disappointment. Many of the stalls were shut or incomplete. Many of the attractions were still be put together with tools and random bits of timber laying around. Some of the stalls were just not open. There were no signs to show you where to go. The toilets, including baby change, were a complete mess and looking like something from the last day of a music festival. Many of the props were still wrapped up in cellophane and cardboard boxes. We just walked along muddy tracks hoping to see something scary or amusing but it never happened. It was just bare and clearly not finished. I’ve emailed the organisers to ask if I’d missed something but I’ve not heard anything back. A real shame as you can imagine.
We visited Cattows farm for their pumpkin picking. It was great but not as good as previous years. The maze wasn’t free this year and it had dinosaurs in it. The wheelbarrows were miles away from the pumpkins and you couldn’t wheel them to the car, you had to either drive your car to the entrance or carry them. This would have been very difficult to do if you were a single parent with a toddler. It felt more like they thought of money making rather than family fun.
Came for the fireworks. The farm was good was raining all day so was quite muddy... which we dressed for but we waited for the fireworks at 5pm and there was a delay until 5.30 but was later than that. Then the 7pm fireworks delayed again so we left. Fields extremely muddy and cars did struggle to get out. Food was basic tbh burgers tasted like cheap ones but prices were silly. The circus was rubbish really not worth the money had one man in a hoop and dancers.. hardly anything good.
Went for brunch, lovely place, great service and delicious food! Will definitely be back! Wheelchair accessible entrance & toilet
Lovely tea room, fancy, yet cosy atmosphere. At first I felt I'm very underdressed for this place, but staff made my family feel very comfortable. We went for the event, so farm was closed, so we will be coming back to visit the animals
