"Derby Adoption Centre is the largest purpose built cat centre in this area and was opened in 1998, with 100 pens to house approximately 150 cats and kittens. Since then we have had the much needed addition of our outdoor area and more recently an annex with 15 extra pens. We can now potentially have in residence up to 240 cats and kittens at any one time, unfortunately there are usually just as many waiting to come into us to find new homes."

Get a cat, they're awesome. So many cats in need of a forever home and Cats Protection is the best place to get a healthy cat and any advice you may need.
Highly recommend this place. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about the cats they have. We went to see 2 young cats but in the end went for 2 older cats that are 8 and 9. Best decision we could have made as they have settled in so well
There are a total of 100 pens, plus a 'Cat Cottage' for their older and harder to home cats. There are always many cats here waiting and hoping for a new home, so if you are looking for a new feline companion, please contact the shelter and answer a cat in care's prayer. lovely friendly staff ready to give you all the help and advice when it comes to adopting a new cat
Have adopted 3 wonderful cats from here and they set everything up for you if you do adopt like microchip registration, vet check etc. All for an amazingly low charge. Highly recommend
Adopted two beautiful cats, sadly even if the shelter vets approved their wellbeing, one has asthma and the other needed antibiotics and teeth treatment. Be careful to take the insurance when adopting after the free 4weeks with 80excess, it really helps A LOT especially when taking the cat urgently to the vets to put him under oxygen as I did not know the cat had asthma.
Visited online to find ourselves an elderly cat to give a good retirement home to. Amazing communication and easy to book a visit to visit our chosen boy. Great and friendly staff when we visited too. Would absolutely recommend
