How can I really rate a church? Attended a funeral of a good friend. We were all made welcome by the priest and some of the regular congregation. Lovely building inside, at present work been done some scaffolding etc. If a Catholic or religious person, then ideal for a visit to mass etc.
My amendment and my apology's to Our Lady help of Christian and all who read the last review that I put some three months ago now . I am sorry for showing my anger and unchristian words that were brought on by the loss of two of our priests that were with us for some eleven years at our lady help of Christians. I found this sad as the kindness and love given in communion we received was sincere and spiritedly enlightening and something I got used to .My sincere apology's go out to Father Alex Saba our now residing priest who i was unfairly rude and personal to. I hope he can forgive me? He is of course a holy man doing a job that in some country's would make him a martyr to our Christian religion. Since my bout of sheer ignorance Father Saba and his team have built a following of different peoples, praising our lord that any church would be pleased to accommodate. If I have offended any other by my sad review, please forgive me? Lady help of Christian is looking Beautiful with its new decor and marvellous lighting that secretory Dylan seems to produce. Thank you.
The inside, particularly the roof, is reminiscent of a boat which is very apt for a town with a long fishing tradition. It is peaceful inside and a lovely place for quiet reflection. There are services every day for anyone who would like to attend. Some people like statues in a church and others don't. This church has statues and I like them. They remind me of the "great cloud of witnesses" watching over us.
Beautiful church. The ceiling is really nice and despite really few and little windows the church is welcoming. The choir sings well. The parishioners are welcoming. And the priest is a dynamic and spiritual leader of this thriving community.
Perfect for those who love a certain degree of 'gravitas' with their faith. Rather large, high ceilinged barn with not unattractive roof timbers & wall panelling. Near life size statues of the 'heroes', including a St Peter in his Chair. Multi-ethnic, modest voiced congregation.
Prefer St Peters Catholic Church, even though I made my holy communion here, we had our photos taken in the back garden, I understand no longer permitted. I guess the flock doesn't always come first.
Lovely decor. Best inside Catholic Church I've seen in UK so far. Great service went for a holy communion.
Just walking by, never been in before, a nice experience as there was a service taking place, a nice place to visit,
A place of solace and welcome, no matter what one's beliefs. Fr. Stephen and Trish make everyone welcome.
The presence of God is felt here, so peaceful and welcoming Priest and congregations .
