Cathedral Church Of St Thomas
"Portsmouth Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Diocese of Portsmouth, which covers south-east Hampshire, Portsea Island and the Isle of Wight. The focal point for many diocese-wide services and events, we host many diocesan events from confirmation services to the ordinations of new ministers. Worship in a variety of different styles is available throughout the year, from daily Holy Communion, to our informal family service #PompeySundays. We warmly welcome all through our doors, as a beacon and safe haven anchored in Jesus Christ. We are also the Parish Church of St Thomas of Canterbury, serving all who live in our geographical parish rather like any other smaller parish church."

Very interesting cathedral to visit. A piece of the ensign that draped Nelson is hung on the wall in a frame made from the Victory. Lots of other local interest and D-Day stained glass window. The earliest part of the original cathedral dates from the 12th century.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Unusual cathedral, great acoustic, awesome organ. Well worth a visit.
The staff couldn't have been more helpful, welcoming and accommodating to my personal interests particular historical eras. Free roam around the entire building, very quiet and plenty of historical references. I highly suggest visiting if you have even just a short bit of time to spare. Cheap parking metres on nearby roads. 5*!
Lunchtime organ recital was on which made it even better, clean tidy and well looked after cathedral. On road payable charges, was greeted at door and advised on what was happening Nice place of worship

Beautiful place full of history. Amazing personnel, events happening regularly. Restrooms also available if needed.
Gorgeous place, especially the old part.. we were welcomed in, even though, they were setting up for a very important ceremony on the afternoon.. loved it

We visited during the opening of Cathedrals at night, but we visted before Sunset so sadly did not get to experiance it in full on the outside. Inside spaced out was beautiful coloured lights giving a more relaxed and friendly tone. There was some very interesting parts as we walked around giving the history of sections or items on display. Everyone there was warm and friendly during our short visit. We was asked to fill out a form when we arrived about our visit. I don't mind feedback, but yeh don't unless they have shortened it. It does not display correctly in horizontal orientation and it's question after question. Towards the end I gave up and randomly hit options. Multiple questions could have been merged. The only downside of the visit
