Really happy with our delivery tonight. 4 adults three kids and delivery all for just over £40 lovely. Chicken and sweet corn soup could have been done with a little seasoning however still delicious. The salt and chilli chips packed a punch! Dont give to the children ! Chilli chicken went down a treat just the right amount of spice. Staple favourites for the kids of sweet and sour chicken balls hit the spot. Well done
Is this a scam? We ordered online from the Newton Mearns outlet and when we went to collect the food there was no shop there and the phone number was wrong! I called the Cathcart branch and they would give me no help. How can we get our money back?
We have ordered a lot from here but recently it has been poor. Thought we would give it one last bash but unfortunately Really disappointed with our meal. Chips were discoloured looked bad and tasted like they had perhaps been made the day before and reheated . The Thai chicken dish we ordered was extremely dry, fried chicken balls had hardly any chicken inside mostly batter soft noodles extremely dry and dim sum very salty
Ordered from here tonight for the first time and well I won't be orderin again. 1- wrong juice was delivered. 2- rice was burnt in places but somehow managed to have a sticky goey texture 3- the thai green curry I ordered was far hotter than requested 4- i found a hair in the curry 5- NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER SEEN CUCUMBER IN A THAI GREEN CURRY 6- the chicken was cold 7- the chicken was pink throughout 8- called the take away to complain but the phone just rang out 9- the chicken 100% resembled the pre cut chicken you can buy from farm foods. £14.30...... over priced shite!
I have to agree with fellow 1-star reviewer Jacqueline Keith. This place used to be good, now it is not. The curry sauce is a gloopy mess. Chips are either cold or dry and stale. Ribs are too tough. The "chicken" in curries has followed the same path as other chicken used for curries in Chinese takeaways. In the good old days it was clearly recognisable as chicken from the taste which was obviously picked from the bone. Now it's always those uniform cubes which are purchased from wholesalers in bulk - it doesn't taste or look like chicken to me, it's awful. They have the cheek to call it chicken breast as if it justifies asking for more money. If you ask for the proper stuff you are told they don't do it anymore. It's a travesty! Cathay Cuisine isn't too expensive but it's certainly not cheap either. I'd rather pay more for better quality food - it is Newton Mearns after all, the locals probably wouldn't complain. In my opinion, there is a DEARTH of good takeaway options in Newton Mearns and Cathay Cuisine has had its last chance. I now find myself heading down to Giffnock to places with much better quality food like the Turban on Station Road, for example.
Ordered from cathay cuisine for many years but have noticed the food is not as good in the past months. After ordering a simple dish tonight chicken chow mein and chips and curry sauce it will be my last order, what a shame, approximately 1 spoonful of sauce over the chips, and chow mein soooo dry I had to bin the order.
Just ordered from here and it was terrible!!!! Ribs so tough you couldn’t even get meat off bone, chicken satay was fatty and he some kind of jelly round it and spring rolls had a really bad taste to them. Will not be ordering from here again!!
Really poor quality not like old Cathycusine in Rukenglen Park. Aromatic duck really bad. chicken curry terrible taste chicken cubes in sauce. Don't want to mention any more. We will never go back
Just had food from here 1hour 50mins from order to delivery. food was cold greasy and not very good. this is second time lousy food from here.we called to ask when it was coming10 mins after original delivery time was told it's on way it arrived 40 mins later.do not use lousy service lousy food
Disappointed order came to £35. £4.80 for delivery. Portion size was small and no added extra for what we spent.
