It's intriguing to witness the remarkable transformation of the Mall since it opened in 1993. Many of the stores that now stand out were once unwelcome in what was previously called Castle Mall, which was quite a trendy spot back in its heyday. If I recall correctly, during its construction, it was the largest ongoing project in Europe at that time.nnRetailers that could be classified as discount stores were not considered suitable for the mall's upscale image, as it aimed to attract a more affluent clientele.nnThe shift has been remarkable, especially following the opening of Chapplefield Mall Chantry Place which drew in major high street fashion retailers, many from the Castle Mall, and changed the landscape entirely.nnIt's interesting to recall that back in the mid 90s, I learned from a fortunate retail owner that even TK Maxx struggled to establish a presence in the Mall due to the said restrictions! Ironically, after the mass exodus to the Chapplefield Mall, significant construction took place, which included dramatically reducing the size of car park 2 to make room for TK Maxx!nnDespite these changes, I remain a regular visitor to the mall, particularly during the winter months when the cold makes the high street less appealing. The Mall has become a comfortable shopping destination for me, showcasing how it has adapted over the years while still catering to its visitors.nnIf the occupancy rate had been higher, I would have given a 5-star rating.
A lovely shopping centre. However, there are a few empty shops. A lovely area on the top floor with a burger place, a place that serves hot baguettes highly recommend, I had the beef brisket stuffing and gravy baguette, a bar, and a pizza place. Toilets and baby changing also on the same level.
Booked in for the Journey to Atlantis , for a Birthday treat for my Daughter great fun and completed the quest in 39.10 just six minutes off the top spot definitely going back for another journey.
Large underground shopping mall. A few unusual ones, e.g. there's a shop for darts players. About 1/3 of shops empty. Right next to big carpark. Not many big name shops.
A lovely, airy and clean shopping 'mall'. The Vue cinema is here. Extensive parking on site.
