They contact me asking me to phone them. When I try many times it is engaged and cuts off. Later I get a recorded message saying the practice is now closed for staff training. Appointments are far more difficult to book. Either the practice is inefficient or it has been overwhelmed by the increasing number of patients resulting from the rampant house building in Ashby.
This practice is extremely badly managed. Just a couple of examples: if one phones at 07.59 a.m. 'this pratice is closed', phone again at 08.00 a.m. and the line will engaged, and remain so pretty much all day. This has been so for years, but no steps have been taken to improve it, it seems 'your call really DOESN'T matter to us. If one visits, there will reception staff, all very good, except at answering the phone maybe... On my last visit the doctor one of many - over the years I've never seen the same doctor twice gave me a script for medication I needed urgently, saying I could collect it in 15 minutes from the pharmacy next door. So kicked my heels and waited, then went to collect to find they never heard of me or the script. Reception said, ah sorry, it's now sorted, just wait another 15 minutes and go back, which I did, to find they'd never heard of any such script. The same happened repeatedly until the pharmacy closed at 6 p.m. and I went home having wasted all that time with no script. And Castle Medical Group don't give a hoot. They make no attempt to improve whatsoever.
If you have any thoughts of becoming a patient with this surgery, my advice would be 'DON'T'nCondescending receptionists, Doctor's who do not call you back when they say they would and, when you complain about these issues, you get an assistant practice manager who tries to fob you off.nAvoid this place at all costs, try Measham surgery, much better.
Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. My 94 year old father is given excellent treatment. The receptionist, nurses, G.Ps are all very efficient and also very caring and kind.
Was directed here from my own practice for a respiratory issue and found all the staff to be pleasant and very helpful.
