While still on the Cask Marque Ale Trial and therefor the beer being in excellent condition, the pubs most recent makeover has brightened the place up to dazzling levels.

Gone are the murky corners and low light crannies that made the place intimate and mysterious. It's near the Creek and still a go-to place, especially in the summer, but the night time romance of the pub has completely disappeared for this reviewer.
