Lovely well kept place. Wish there was a sign about the car park, would have saved all the stairs. 2.20 to go in and only takes cash. Down side no signs in the building to advise what it was used for, when it was built etc. Brilliant views
A very scenic area, the views are fantastic. It's worth noting there's not a lot to do, but it'd make a lovely place for a pit stop on a longer walk or for a picnic. It can be quite windy but it's worth it for the view! There is a big free parking
The road up here are bad. Filled with put hols in the parking lot. Not much up to do except for enjoying the view up there. AND to be honest there are plenty of this type of places in West-Yorkshire. They all look the same. It's just the tower that makes this place a little more appealing. The view itself is worth, but by adding more tourists attractions might make this place a little bit more interesting, specially with multiple, different food trucks and a small playground, makes this place more interesting and fun for the children. Seems like this is basically Huddersfield's CN Tower of Toronto. Would be better if the council of governors invest more time and money on this place. Not only will it make this place better but attract more people to the site.
Beautiful place. Very peaceful. Bliss. An easy escape from all the urban stress. Well spent day. Only drawback is the tower is locked and we couldn’t get to the top.
Great location ! I’m not from here Yorkshire but it is one of the iconic locations of the area / great views ! One gets a real sense of Yorkshire from here ! Nice walks here - a good stop off on a sunny day ! Gets a bit windy up there too !
Was passing through Huddersfield & read that there was an opportunity to get up high for an overview of the town. Even better, you can drive up to it! What more do you want? Free parking? Ok you’ve got that as well : Only negative was the Victoria Tower wasn’t open.
Really good place to have a walk round, you can spend about an hour here. Plenty of parking at the top or you can park at the bottom and take the 100 steps up. Parking is free.
An amazing place with 4000 years worth of history. Since the Neolithic era every age of peoples and invaders has built a presence on this hill. There was a motte-and-bailey castle on the hill in 12th century which is presumably where the hill got it’s name. There is a large car park here too.
Nice for a hour or two, narrow road leading upto large Carpark, barriers are closed at dusk, various times of the year, check web site for times.. walk dogs round the pathways that circle the tower.. Large playing field for picnic, play games fly a kite etc...great views of the surrounding area and far in to the distance.. Good photo opportunities with great backdrops.. Pity that the council haven't sorted a toilet solution yet.. You can Pay to go up the tower for a wider view.. 5 stars if it had toilets..
A family walk over the Christmas period from Farnley Tyas to Castle Hill. We'll worth a visit for the views. Also worth doing a little research as the location has a very long and interesting history.
