I go here because it's a short walk from the car park for my elderly mother, there is a shop full of glitzy stuff for her to wander around, and a cafe so she can sit to watch the birds , drink tea and eat buns. Perfect for that, also would be a great day out for the kids.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Our 1st time here today1st May 2022 Lovely walk around and got to see all the birds. Kids get a bird sheet to identify the birdsno seed due to flu but will be again. Viewing platforms to look out at the landscape and a play park, zipline and swamp. I would say we will be back again :
Had my lunch and then paid for entry. Got a map but although interesting didn't really need it. The weather was good so I saw it at its best. I had a lovely afternoonVisited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great spot for kids and adults , lots of parking . Recommend getting the bird feed when you're at reception desk as its a must to spot all the different breeds of ducks at the ponds . Level pathways must of the way , so if you've a pram it's easy managed . The play park in the forest is just perfect in the Autumn .only down side was the cafe is now closed at 2.30 on a Sunday . But plenty of spots you could sit, and bring a flask and a sandwich . Staff are always so pleasant. Plenty of hand sanitizers at different spots Dogs not allowed . Great gift shop
Had an enjoyable time seeing the different wild foul and a nice walk thru the forest. Definitely a place to take the children with lots for them to do and see. Small cafe on the premises with lots of good stuff to eat.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Great place to explore and look out for different kind of geese and ducks. Kids love it. Pity we couldn't feed the birds them due to speading flu.

I have visited castle espie a couple of times this year having not been in many years. Both times the staff were absolutely lovely and went above and beyond. The facilities on site are good and inlclude a cafe, sensory garden, toilets, a shop, picnic benches and a play park. It is a great place for enjoying the birds, nature walks and for kids to burn off some energy! The walks may not be the best for wheelchair users as the paths are gravel and may be hard to push around the site. However the building and immediate area surrounding it would be more suitable for those with mobility impairments.
What a delicious little place, with wonderful species of very rare birds. The staff very knowledgeable, refreshments available, lovely souvenir shop - what else one can wish for I do not know. Children love it and a great relaxation time for grown ups. Highly recommend indeed. Or just stop for coffee and wee snack, watching birds outside the window, if the weather does not permit exploring the grounds. We had truly great time there.
Early Sunday visit with few visitors. Activities are restricted due to Covid and avian flu but a lovely relaxing walk and plenty to see and learn. A very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours.
