Awesome place to go for a long walk! There is a beautiful house/castle near by, be careful because it is private land. I've just discovered that this castle is a bed and breakfast so if you want to explore the inside you have to pay around £200 per night.
Lovely forest area for a nice walk. It is quite up hill so suitable walking shoes would be advised. Also the route isn't clear so you can end up walking miles. We walked right to the Durham coast line and back which was around 6 miles. Car park is quite small. All in all a good free day out of the weather is nice.
Amazing location, beautiful surroundings and incredible variety of vegetation. We loved our walk.
The signage around the place was poor, we were trying to follow a trail and because of lack/poor signing we ended up going the wrong the way. Other than that we were thoroughly surprised by how lovely it was and really enjoyed the walk out. Will be going back to explore more!

What a beautiful place to be when you need to wind down switch off and enjoy the scenery
Fantastic walk, if you like peace and quiet I can recommend it. I went during the week and only past half a dozen people. One thing to note, it is quite steep in parts. There are couple of routes and you can get down to the coast if you want to go that far.
This place could well be my favourite place I've been. You can just sit down and look around and all you see and hear is nature. It just smells clean but dont take my word about it just go there and walk for 10 mins and take a deep breath and you'll know what i trying to say
