Ok so it's got to be one of the most impressive situated car parks of all time however what a rip off! I've never seen such small spaces, consequently leading to half the cars getting fines on top of paying exorbitant prices when they can't get their modern massive cars into them! I thought Brighton was expensive but it's got nothing on this place. £10.60 for 2 hours on Saturday! Wow! Avoid if you can.
Castle Car Park, located right in the heart of York, is just a short stroll from some of the city’s top attractions including the magnificent York Minster.nnIt’s a bit cramped with some potholes here and there, and while some might say it's on the pricier side, the location truly makes up for it. So close to the best visiting spots you can dream of, I had no regrets leaving my car there — absolutely worth it for the convenience alone.
AVOID-AVOID-AVOIDnThis car park is a disgrace. It is literally falling apart. Bays are hard to make out as it so worn out and broken up. Very tight to get around. Broken payment machines. Lots of people seemed to have penalty stickers as they have probably struggled to park within the poorly marked bays or work out the dodgy machines.nExtremely overpriced!nWhere does all the income go? Sure as hell not on maintaining the service to a suitable and SAFE standard.
A thoroughly dreadful car park that is in desperate need of resurfacing and proper relining. The entrance and exit are incredibly narrow, the surface is riddled with potholes, the markings are faded and unclear, and the parking bays themselves are uncomfortably tight. To add insult to injury, the pricing is on par with places like London and Brighton, which feels hard to justify given the state of it. That said, it does at least have one redeeming feature: a wonderful castle sitting right next to it, which almost distracts you from the ordeal of parking there in the first place.
For the extortionate prices they charge to park here you'd think they'd have large spaces and smooth ground. Instead the surface of the car park has potholes like craters all over, and the spaces only are large enough to get your car into if you don't plan on opening the doors. Park anywhere else in York, it's not big enough to worry about.
