Castle Car Park, located right in the heart of York, is just a short stroll from some of the city’s top attractions including the magnificent York Minster.nnIt’s a bit cramped with some potholes here and there, and while some might say it's on the pricier side, the location truly makes up for it. So close to the best visiting spots you can dream of, I had no regrets leaving my car there — absolutely worth it for the convenience alone.
The cost of this parking is absolutely extortionate. Over £15 for 4 hours.... not only is it unaffordable but the condition of the car park is shocking. Most of the machines are out of order. The parking surface is extremely poorly maintained, pot holes everywhere and filth piled up. It's an embarrasment... I don't know how business are coping in York anymore.
Absolutely shocking car park. Potholes everywhere, poorly marked bays which are tiny even for my small work van, the spaces are so small that if a vehicle is next to you you will struggle to get out and don't even mention the prices, outrageous total rip off for the state of it. Doesn't look there are any cameras looking over the car park so if anything happened to your car you would have no chance getting it sorted. All that money for what exactly ! This car park needs a total resurface and clearly marked larger bays for modern sized vehicles. Avoid.
Would leave no stars if I could. The car park is well placed for city center but it cost £5.85 for an hour. The carpark is full of potholes and puddles some are pretty deep when getting out of the vehicle .No markings so lots of spaces are too small and wasted. Also no option to stay for a shorter time, I actually only stay 16 mins and paid for a full hour... with these prices I would expect to at least get a decent surface to drive onto...
AVOID-AVOID-AVOIDnThis car park is a disgrace. It is literally falling apart. Bays are hard to make out as it so worn out and broken up. Very tight to get around. Broken payment machines. Lots of people seemed to have penalty stickers as they have probably struggled to park within the poorly marked bays or work out the dodgy machines.nExtremely overpriced!nWhere does all the income go? Sure as hell not on maintaining the service to a suitable and SAFE standard.
