Great books, rubbish service. The owner (I presume) told me, once I entered the shop to not lean on anything (not that I was), as there was barely any room to sneeze not to mention walk, as the minimal single route meant that even with the couple walking towards me I had to backward step outside the shop, so that they could leave, as the place is disorganised. I've only given 2 stars because the books there are good which I eventually bought despite the owners attitude - but the books were expensive.

If there was a less than one, this shop would get it! Incredibly rude 'lady' in the shop. Complained about children 'touching the books' they were interested in buying. Complained when my daughter asked to see the children's books. When my son as if she had any Stephen King books, she replied 'yes but you're not having them, next question'. Stephen King writes children's books. When he stepped back in surprise he was told not lean on the books, 'they' re not a leaning post'. When I said we were leaving because the shop wasn't suitable for children I was told 'so why don't you just & & & & & off then'!!!! Lovely shop.... NOT!

A great little shop. Prices are reasonable (unless you and comparing to charity shops, which don't pays rates). Yes the shop is quirky and crammed, but that's part of its charm and our children always come out with a handful of books each on the recommendation of the owner. Value for money and even more for reading encouragement!

Arriving in Beaumaris looking for an antiques fair we were pleased to come across what on the surface looked like a lovely book shop. The single room was full of books to the point that only a single narrow walk way could be used. However the novelty of the shop quickly wore off as only having a narrow walk way we spent much of time walking backwards to let people pass. The owner then reminded me not to lean on any of the waist high pile of books as I let people past as they may fall. This was very helpful as having the mental age of a two year old I hadn't realised books piled too high would fall over if leaned on. The owner then sparked up a conversation with em which I engaged in to my error. In her very clear English accent she complained about all the visitors coming to the town and the parking issues it was creating, a very legitimate point I thought. However she then began to complain about new parking enforcement officers who will drive business way!!! Clearly there is no pleasing some people. I had been looking for classic penguin books and I enquiried as to whether they had any after seeing one in the window. She said yes to my delight but they were kept in the back as they were fragile. However she never produced any of the books or told me which ones she had. Obviously she expected me to see them through the wall. The owner was incredibly unwelcoming and clearly does not require the patronage of 'outsiders' However I'm sure she would be more than welcoming a visit from the fire inspector. I would not recommend this shop even if it does have a great selection of books

Excellent book store for those who love reading. The owner is a fount of knowledge, was great with my 2 kids, and had many useful suggestions. The only downside is that you can spend too much time and money there..
