We visited the new play area and it was fantastic. So much to do for all levels of ability, including wheelchair accessible swing and roundabout.
Lovely views, great to walk dog sometimes. The grass cutting really needs to be cleared up instead of leaving clumps of dried grass. Ashcombe Park does
Brilliant park! I have a 20month old and a 5 year old. Lots to do for different age groups. Can get very busy sometimes but that’s to be expected with anywhere on school holidays and weekends. There are no toilets. Quite a few benches and picnic tables around. Parking is limited but there is on street parking in the surrounding roads.
It's a great play area for little ones. But people need to stop taking dogs in and leaving dog mess everywhere. It's disgusting!
The equipment in the park is great! Lots of thought has gone into the accessible play equipment. However, it was extremely busy and filled with lots of unsupervised children and teens, which made it difficult at times for my child, who finds loud noises and waiting very tricky. She is also blind and uses a cane to guide herself. Due to it being so busy she had difficulty moving around without support. We also had to park the car quite far away out on the road due to the car park being full and there not being any disability bays free. I'm unsure if this is something that happens already or is being planned, but would be great to have some scheduled quieter sessions that are supervised?
