My daughter summed this place up really well. Most castles in England fence you off and prevent you from climbing up stairs or exploring. This one simply advises you that you do so at your own risk. It has great views out onto the bay and allows everyone to explore and enjoy it.
A well preserved and managed castle ruins. Plenty of spaces and walking routes, you can watch the old canons, outpost, area markings etc.nYou will get a spectacular view from the top, sunset from the castle area is an amazing visual experience.
Open 24/7, free of charge.nMore ruin than castle, but a couple of notable features.nIt's well-maintained and the way it's incorporated into the landscape provides a lovely peaceful space in Aberystwyth Town centre with fantastic views of the coastline and hills. A great place to hang out and watch the waves and sunset!
Almost every town and village seems to have their own set of ruins some better than others. Here they are easily accessible and free which is a huge plus in a country where everything seems to cost a fortune
Hilly but a nice trek. Toilets 40p even if you have a radar key. Signs to get down not visible
