My Daughter joined the school in 2021, I have nothing but praise for this school. A school full of opportunity and a school that shows real compassion for children’s welfare. My daughter couldn’t be more happy here. Well done Carterton Community College for turning the school around and bringing a very valuable secondary school up to a great standard, it’s so important to have such a good local school.
this school went downhill very fast. after the executive head left and they completely changed the behaviour system, there is really no benefit with going to this school. the new way of teaching and dealing with bullying is really very pathetic. i chose to go to this school in year 7 because of all the positive feedback from other people and the image of the school. the image was a cover up. lots of teachers are really nice, same with people, but they need to clean up their image fast.
Carterton community college is probably going to be in David walliams book of the worlds worst schools at the rate this school is headed for absolutely terrible, unethical and just an utter discrace. Some teachers are absolutely lovely and some are racist and mean and don't care about students feelings. Art is absolutely terrible. the production level is satisfactory but the teacher doesnt help at all and yells at everyone when we are quiet. the teacher scolds people and jokes about mistakes they've made in school. Students get very upset by this and have triggered people to leave school premises. Security levels are apaulling p.s sorry for bad grammar, my english teacher is nice the gates are easy to climb over and currently under maintenance because of an incident. the temporary replacement is absolutely terrible. Also, the headteacher has an obsession with kinder eggs and the assembly's that he holds have no meaning or purpose. Though, there is ONE thing about this school that is surprisingly decent, the lockdown procedure. its effective and the teachers know what they're doing.
