Just fantastic food in a unique atmosphere. Pizzas and pasta are fabulous, but don't overlook the turkey and ham option. As good if not better than the day it opened as Carriages, the guts of forty years go. Book a carriage for the full experience.Food: 5/5

The place itself is really nice.. Love the decor and the theme related posters.. The staff were nice and friendly.. The service was ok... Place was a wee bit drafty and cold at times.. we ordered one well done and one medium rare.. I was surprised that the lady serving us the meal never asked who's was what.. Anyway all was OK because we got exactly what we asked for... Finished that all up then waited about 10mins for the scotch whisky coffee.. That didn't arrive at all.. So instead of going up and asking for it.. I decided not to bother and just head home as I was feeling shattered.. Basiclt didn't want to make a fuss.. However Normally when there's a special on.. You get that special.. So in a nut shell... The service at the start was nice and friendly.. But after that.. There was none.. Not even at the end when paying for the Bill.. Was I made aware of the scotch whiskey coffee.. Maybe it was getting late and close to closing time and the staff just thought.. Hope they don't want the coffee.. Pitty.. As the place is really nice too.. 2 stars

I like carriages but I definitely can't rate it high up there.

4 off us dined and food was very good and reasonably priced.no complaints about table service or waiting time and will definitely come back.

Would not recommend - an appalling experience. Went for a family meal, hoping to enjoy the celebrated "taste of Ulster" only to be greeted with shabby service and the stale smell of beer. The decor must have been nice about twenty odd years ago, and the menu pages stuck together for a reason I don't even want to think of. After ordering, we were left waiting for over an hour, without even the slightest indication as to when our food would be arriving. The place wasn't busy, yet we were given no attention as we waited for our meal. The staff was unhelpful, and we left without eating.

I was in last night with friends and we had the most amazing meal. Everything was so tasty , well presented and piping hot. Deserts looked awesome but we could hardly finish main course let alone have a 2nd one. You were spoilt for choice from the extensive menu, ranging from pasta, pizza, steaks to scrumptious looking dinners. Staff were very friendly and attentive, we were looked after by Heather who could not have done enough for us. I have been getting pizzas delivered throughout lockdown and they are also the best ever. Will definitely be back. Well done Carriages.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Has never failed to deliver a great service along with 1st class food. Pizzas are delicious and the best you'll get. In about 30years of visiting carriages  i don't think we've ever had a bad meal.
