The Library was founded in 1905 and it looks absolutely stunning. We got help from the librarian, purchased a few books on a book sale and enjoyed the garden. Nice place to go with children or just to calm down
Lovely historic building.Big IT Computer Suite in library.Friendly and helpful staff.Only library in Portsmouth that has SD Card Slot on computer monitor screens in the IT Computer Suite part of the library thus you can access directly off your memory cards.Childrens library section too; also open later on Monday's but closes for lunch from 12.30pm to 1.30pm Mon to Fri.Closed on Thursdays.
The Carnegie staff were amazing!! I came in especially to look for 2 books listed on the library site - this is not my local library... They were patient and kind - although it took us some time to find the books my fault for the wrong author . Outstanding service!!!
It is located not to far from my house,I got my library card the same day I applied. It has a section for children as well.
Musty old books and central heating on full blast. Nice sensory garden when it's being looked after. But the building itself is worth seeing, one of Carnegie's libraries for poor people.
Cool old building. Joining, using a computer and printing some forms all under 5 mins. Friendly staff will visit again.
Just popped in for a while to have a look at the books. Also chatted to the staff members at the desk. There were a few people in the library. The garden was open as well.
Great library staff are extra helpful access for wheelchair round back of store dont be put of by stairs very large accessible toilet
Quick visit today, borrowed book, back out and down the road before rain got too bad.
Closed due to Coronavirus. Another excuse to give poor service while still paying full council tax.
